  1. Sorry for being so late but no there was no flooding here in spring 2000. Only in Oct/Nov that year.April was wet but March had been dry so it didn't flood.
  2. It's all in the East again-why? Been raining on and off all day here but nothing remotely thundery. The risk area was shown as right across from Wales to the east coast.
  3. Had a couple of light showers already, and bits of Sun here and there, but this wind is really picking up. You don't expect this kind of blustery day, let alone warnings of gales in May. Feels quite warm in the sun out of the wind, but still only 14C.
  4. Faded to light drizzle, but still 100% overcast and quite muggy despite only being 13C.
  5. Revolting morning, looks and feels like November. Heavy rain and temps of 10C.
  6. Wales and western England (Lancs, all the counties bordering Wales, Birmingham, Staffs, Worcs, Wiltshire, Dorset and the SW peninsula). Far northern England- Cumbria, Northumberland, Durham Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and east Midlands; Derbys Leics and Notts Southeast (the rest)
  7. Some sun this morning but very very hazy- not seen a clear blue sky for weeks now. Trying to warm up but yet another pesky wind stopping it. Will we hit 21C this month?
  8. Hardly any sun today again, the south is hogging it all, very very boring. A few spots of rain last night and yet another max in the teens (14C). What a dreadfully boring spring so far. No frost since March, no really cold days, no thunder, not much showery activity, and not got near 21C despite it being consistently warmer than average. Sunshine decidedly mediocre too.
  9. The last time they won the League, wasn't it?
  10. You beat me to it! We had more than that in February 1994 alone. Maybe he means 1992-3 or 1991-2?
  11. Yes it did surprise me a bit when I woke up to bright sunshine and it was only 6.10- not long now till the 4am dawns.
  12. Didn't get below 2C here last night even though it cleared about 3am- how could ultra-urban Kew get colder? No air frost since March.
  13. Ooh, so close, mostly sunny but muck is not 20 miles to the west according to the satellite. Just hope it stays there or better still clears off altogether.
  14. First April without air frost I can remember. Yet again a real lack of temperature variation: every day had a max between 10 and 18C. An amazing statistic: the temperature range here in the last 6 months has been just 21.5C (-3.5 to +18). It's not uncommon for March and April to record 23-25C ranges, the winter months can do it too if there's a mix of mild and cold spells.
  15. Much sunnier now but still a few patches of cloud around. Once again nicely warm but only in the sun.
  16. I had the same message this morning, trying to put quotes in the reply had to remove a load of text and emoticons
  17. Was crystal clear at 6am but now totally cloudy, satellite shows the worst example of Shropshire cloud I've ever seen. Literally everywhere else in Britain is clear!
  18. Thank you for re-sending that activation email so quickly. Was thinking I'd shut myself out for good http:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/good.gif http:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/good.gif http:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/good.gif http:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/good.gif Oo
  19. Still no airfrost this month, never got below 2C last night. Sunny again but a bit more wispy citrus than yesterday, similar temperatures.
  20. Beautiful sunny day, does feel warm again despite only being 14C in the shade. Feels more like 18 or 19 though, comfortable T shirt and shorts weather. Strange how the temperatures are struggling to climb in this sun, just like they keep struggling to fall overnight under the clear skies. PS Why is the Metoffice reporting Shawbury as cloudy at 1400? It certainly isn't!
  21. So much for this widespread frost. Its been clear since sunset, not a breath of wind, and its still 4C. Not even ice forming on the cars.
  22. 2002? We had nothing higher than 27C that year, I didn't think anywhere outside the usual London places made 30. That day in June 2011 made 28, 0.3C shy of October 1st, but it was an isolated warm day in a cool summer. 2001 which wasn't a particularly good summer had 3 days make it, showing it doesn't take exceptional weather to do it.
  23. A mostly sunny day here with less and less cloud as the day wore on; totally clear now. Felt nice in the sun despite only reaching 13C thanks to that pesky wind that just won't die down.
  24. We only got to 29.5 that day and are still waiting... Between 1990 and 2006 on average every other year hit 30C.
  25. The one statistic that sums up all the 2007-12 summers: Between 2006 and 2013 the hottest day here was 1st October 2011.
