  1. This year is certainly exhibiting atypical conditions so can’t rule out anything. I’d be interested to see what a cool dry summer is like, although I’m really craving sunshine at the moment.
  2. Several more squally hail showers since earlier on. Real textbook March weather!
  3. Not a bad day in all and a high of 13.9C with sunny spells. Different story out there now with very heavy squally rain and gusty winds as the front moves through.
  4. I would be surprised if nearer the time we get something more like this happening: Chilly to warm within a few days. Seems to be quite difficult to get a lengthy easterly in March these days.
  5. Me too! Plenty of convective days, some nice warm days in April between the chillier spells, and a decent warm/hot spell in May. June was very pleasant also. July and August however....
  6. Heard the squall move through in the early hours. Very heavy rain for a time.
  7. A light frost to start and mostly cloudy. The first air frost since the same week in February.
  8. In stark contrast, a thoroughly wet morning (again) has led to a cloudy, breezy and chilly afternoon.
  9. I remember that day. 7C and wet!
  10. Actually managed a dry day with plenty of sunshine. A different day to come tomorrow.
  11. Almost certainly. Already had thunder and lightning during the early hours. We may come in and out like a lion and behave like a lamb in the middle like 2015.
  12. Yes I was woken by the first thunder, then came the next very loud bang. Almost overhead.
  13. Well spring has been remarkably dry here so far...
  14. We could of course end up with a spring/summer like 2014 following that horrendous winter. March transitioned nicely and April was homogenously warm, although May was unsettled. Presumably it’s possible to have a monster PV that just waves through spring and doesn’t go to the loo all over the mid latitudes following season’s end.
  15. Exactly. Of recent years, only 2014 and 2017 were what I would class as ‘bad’. Here at least August 2017 was even a very usable month, it just wasn’t summery apart from the odd day here and there and the BH hot spell. 2018 grew gradually worse as it went on. Last year had fine weather in the first and final third but had a garbage filler. 2016 was very decent here. Ive always thought that August does its own thing when June and July are either great or terrible.
  16. Yesterday was just vile but much better today. Sunny spells and two brief hail showers so far.
  17. You timed your visit very well. Indeed that was the lengthiest dry spell of the ‘winter’. Even managed some frost! #shockhorror
  18. That chart does look like something out of December lol! Some decent wintry potential on that (yes the p word).
  19. Haha, certainly the smell of BBQ! I enjoyed the five minutes of relative warmth between business and leaving...
