Happy, Healthy New Year my local weather pals
It's a rare beautiful clear, sunny day here today.
Just enjoyed a quick walk round the block.
Nearly got run over by white van man .. he wound down his window
and said with a smile .. 'well that was nearly a very short year for you' LoL
Phew.

We all have our weather preferences ..
but I can't think many will favour today's offering !
My curtains are still closed but I can hear the wind and rain beating hard on the glass.
Nasty to be out in that.

Are these visible anytime of day or just sunrise and sunset?
Never seen them but although cloudy right now maybe another chance later as it clears up shortly
Any time of day I think as they are visible here over lunchtime.

Lovely to see the local snow pics
I peeped out at 1 am to nothing, but have woken to
a pretty overall covering. I'd say 1cm.
Very grey skies, but I can hear dripping.

Hi all,
According to my readings I haven't got over 0° C here all day.
An 'Ice Day'.
We have had some freezing fog too.
Been a cold job putting up the outside Christmas lights.

Wow, how wonderful !
A sight I long to see. I was pleased to see your 'heads up', and rushed to
look out but it was misty and murky .. fireworks and bonfires not helping.
Seeing other beautiful photos on TV this morning, even from the far south.
Argh. I hope I am lucky one day.
Thanks WT.- 1

Indeed. It's been terrifying and continues to be so. Unconfirmed reports on social media stating that Jersey Met has just recorded our highest gust so far of 100mph (surpassing 96mph in 1987) and a 9 to 10 meter swell is due to impact our shores in the next hour or so coinciding with a 10.1 meter tide. We are being battered. Not good.
Thinking of all the good folks of the Channel Isles. Had one of my best ever hols there (Jersey)
I hope the zoo animals are safe too.
Must be very frightening indeed.- 3
