Morning all. Happy 1st day of meteorological Spring !
Very changeable conditions here so far. Bright sunny spells, very short
lived and then tipping down with rain. 6.5 ° C.

I'm so disappointed I didn't know there was a good chance to look.
I used to like the members updates 'what's on your mind' on the side of
the site here. Some kind folks used to quickly put up a 'heads up'
notification there that caught my eye.- 1

Yes, had a horrid dog walk this morning. Caught in a squall.
Brrrr.- 1

Clear sky as I type. Jupiter and Venus looking gorgeous in the West.

I had a reading of 11 C at 6am, very mild.
Wind started picking up here at 6.30am and gradually getting stronger.
Humber bridge closed to high siders .. otherwise a 30 mph speed limit.
Status there reads ..' 60mph wind' gusts.

Woke to zero temps and a freezing mist.
Now at 8am it has cleared already.
Be nice to see some sunshine.

There's a quite lengthy article in this BBC news link re. the lack of named wind storms .- 1

I had hopes of seeing the comet with binoculars tonight but there's only a few main
stars visible.
I'll try again tomorrow night ..
Thanks to all here showing their super photos.

A really hard frost here too @Beverley Lass, quite the white out, with lovely clear skies tho.
Our closest station recorded -3.7c o/n with a current of -3.3c. My gauge only reads -2.7c but this weekend I’m going to move it permanently to a better spot, where it might be a bit more accurate.
Hi, I have the same problem @RebsAbbo, my outdoor thermometer is under my patio step for shade and shelter.
It often gives a degree or so higher than other, more reliable local readings.
I'm not sure I dare expose it to the rain though.

Brrrrr another good frost here and my thermometer reading -4 ° C

It was a heavy frost this morning, roads well & truly covered. 1.6c at 8.15am. Spectacular sunrise, pics taken over the course of 10 mins as I walked along the top. Soon after though the clouds descended & brought rain. Currently 3c.
Sorry for the overkill, but I do love it so. I really should start taking my proper camera out as I can’t capture the light as well as I’d like.
Ooo they are wonderful shots. Thanks for sharing

Happy St Stephen's Day all
Like others here have said .. I started the day with a slight frost.
Noticed black ice on the roads and pavements on my first walk.
Lovely blue sky and sunshine now, but I find it cold in the shade and breeze.
