    Great to see all that Dorset snow. Looks much more than my winter there in 86-7 but my I was cold in a student flat with no heating. The water supply was frozen up and I had flu too. Ahhh, happy days, lol. BL.

    Hi all, I loved reading this look at how we're fairing during all the snow here in the UK. Included ~ Some very worthy efforts to carry on with work .. Some not nearly so plucky !     Oh, I lived right beside Corby cricket / sports ground for over 25 years .. Yes, I can recall playing in loads of snowdrifts in my youth ;-) The most dramatic snowfall I remember was back around 1982 ish, I was meant to be on an archaeology dig out at Oundle. Woke up in Corby to an 'unexpected' overnight 8" of snow . Wish I knew the precise date. Anyway, I digress from today's excitement .. cos I just have rain here *weeps. BL :lol:

    Hiya Jimben I have them all over really .. here's my closest family .. Old Dad in Corby. Bro in Desborough, he hasn't made it to his office in Rugby today, says he has c. 8" of snow. Sis in Little Harrowden is staying put too with a good 6" BL

    I think you're on the right track there Hurricane Andrew. Did anyone else just watch John Hammond's forecast on News24 ? He showed that main snow band for tomorrow reaching as far North as Newcastle now ! It looked snowy right to the coast .. but i know I may be living with false hopes there, lol BL

    Well, it didn't amount to much here, 5cm at best and soon started thawing. Heavy evening rain and the snow all but gone. Just too near the coast and only c. 5metres ASL. My man has safely gone to work on his motorbike today. Disappointing, but I have enjoyed all the tales and pics from everyone who has had a fair dollop, lol. BL <_<

    Thanks Debs, Yes, I was excited at that point, but it's been thawing this afternoon and just sleety now. I know many have had a day to remember, but not too good here so near the coast. Ah well, another time will come for building a big snowman, lol. BL

    Only a few mins between moderate to heavy showers here this morning. I've just been out to do an accurate measurement and we're at 5 cm so far. BL

    Good morning all I haven't measured accurately, but looks like 2-3 cm's of level snow here. Looks interesting for 4pm ish, but I'm thinking I might be in a location for it to turn to nasty sleet/rain later. I'm just 7miles from the sea. Enjoy it folks. Take care.     Just sitting watching it snow pretty heavily .. on the TV footie, Liverpool v Chelsea Out of my own window, quite a lot of blue sky and nothing of the occaisional light flurries has settled so far. I'm just beginning to have my doubts ... BL

    I just had a look at the MO weather warnings page and for Monday my area has gone back to just Green ! I'm surprised. BL Edit : Scrub that ... it's ok again now !! :lol: Back to Orange Warning.
