My village was without power for over 2hrs this afternoon, that wasn't a lot of fun ! lol Glad to have it back now in time for cooking dinner. Brrr. Zero outside now, icy and with a little laying graupel. Strong bitter winds at times. I shall be peeping at the lampost tonight. Keep safe everyone. BL
Morning all,
I haven't been out yet to check the temp.
but here, 7 miles inland from Hornsea, we're
having a few brief graupel showers since
daylight.
Brrr.
Thanks for the Meto. warning update and link.

Ooo I'm glad to see these regional chats back.
They were fun and interesting last year
Pouring with rain most of the day here.
Waiting for the turn to something more wintry soon.
BL.
Cracking thunderstorm here (near Beverley,E. Yorks)
Torrential rain the last 15 mins.
Feels amazingly warm too at 15 degrees C right now.
(Y'day you could see your breath in the morning air.)
BL
Yes, watched that prog. and relished it
I can just, only just mind you, recall the winter of
1963.
I remember well the unusual snowfall in June 75 they talked of.
Unless I missed a bit .. I thought the only thing the docu'
lacked was seeing footage of very big flakes falling from
the sky. I think that's the most beautiful sight .
This winter I had the pleasure of a few mins of pretty big
flakes floating gently down. Magical.
BL
All happening here in the last 15mins.
First pea sized hail very heavy, then heavy smaller hail,
now wet snow and one clap of thunder.
White all over everything and still coming down.

I'm half way between Beverley town and the coast.
Still moderate snow here, I've just popped out with my tape
and we have just short of 2".
After all the hours of snow, I thought it might have been more,
but I'm not complaining
Sounds 'bad' in parts on the roads tonight.
BL.
Just back from a lovely walk with the dogs.
Moderate snowfall and settling again.
The temp has fallen a little to just about ¾º C
(best I can judge with my mercury !)
Wonder how late home tonight my man will be on the bus
from Hull
BL <_<
Now it's as light and fine as can be and has melted on the roads.
See what the rest of the afternoon / early evening brings.
I loved those Big flakes.
BL
Hi, I've just popped out for you, to check the thermometer and it reads 1.5 degrees C
It's so pretty, flakes falling vertically, 2-3 cm across each.
Yes, it's readily settling.
BL
Many thanks for this vid .
I find them very helpful to learning.
It was a bit stop n start, but I got it to run right through.
Looking forward to further info and seeing how the
storm turns out.
Cheers,
BL.
