  1. not fine for you if verified, bone dry!....Anyhoos, it's just one run, and we've seen things chop and change today, so who knows?
  2. the ppn 48 hour acc charts are out (they're normally the first) and they're not impressive to be honest...Wet in Cornwall/Devon (likely to be rain for most) and dry for the 'points west' region (a couple of mm here and there)..Will be interesting to see if UKMO will modify this raw NAE or not....
  3. ok, NMM06z run out, and it's a step towards the NAE IMO....stronger snow signal tomorrow for Devon/Somerset/Dorset/Wilts especially towards the evening..... No charts at the moment because I'm feeling lazy...lol
  4. Could've sworn this was a thread about South West/Central Southern England regional weather discussion ?
  5. back to today, and it's been snizzling here for the past hour or so
  6. hmm...well I'm ging to sit on the fence and wait I think....I 've had doubts & then hopes about any snowfall for tomorrow for the past 24 hours, as GFS & NMM (hi-res) haven't really wanted to know, yet NAE and info from our own Ian F say otherwise.....I'm just surprised the model outputs are showing such different outcomes at T24-36.....In fact for tuesday from an IMBY perspective the 06z GFS looks worse....mind you it is the 06z run!.....guess it just goes to show how complex and much uncertainty there is at the moment Happy Birthday Tony, you're catching me up!
  7. NMM18z hi-res differs from NAE for tuesday...PPN spread 50-100 miles further west......So, no hi-res model agreement yet, to coin a cliche....'More runs needed!"
  8. Thanks chaps.....I'd be coming up the M42 then A5 into Atherstone......I'll play it by ear I think and have a look online first thing in the morning
  9. Evening chaps!...good to see you getting plenty of the white stuff up in my old stomping grounds! How's the roads doing up there?...I'm due to drive up to Tamworth/Atherstone in the morning, or is it not worth getting out of bed?
  10. Repost of Jackone's post re. met office warnings.... Wales Ice Issued at: 1627 on Sun 20 Jan 2013 Valid from: 0005 on Tue 22 Jan 2013 Valid to: 2355 on Tue 22 Jan 2013 As temperatures fall below freezing on Monday night into Tuesday morning icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces especially in areas where any further sleet, snow or rain has fallen on Monday. In addition, further rain reaching the extreme southwest on Monday night may extend north and east on Tuesday across southern Britain readily turning to sleet and snow, giving further localised snow accumulation. However the extent of any wintry precipitation is very uncertain at this stage, The public should be aware of the risk of travel disruption. Chief Forecaster's Assessment Another night with icy surfaces as temperatures fall below freezing. However, a further frontal system may edge into southern Britain on Tuesday increasing the risk of further localised falls of snow. However, computer models are giving mixed signals regarding its extent so things remain very uncertain at this stage.
