  1. Thundersnow Mark, or am I just being greedy...lol Snow is nice, especially the anticipation it arouses, but for instant "wham bam, it's making the hair on the back of my neck stand up" satisfaction, then it's a thunderstorm all the way, plus you get the anticipation especially during a plume scenario!
  2. Yep, steady rain here currently, & has been for the past 2-3 hours
  3. I'll drop you a pm if you're interested Mark
  4. nah, it's damaged goods now...lol.......I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that at least someone will get a strong thunderstorm at some stage over the next 24 hours......The place to chase going on the experts forecasts looks to be Lincolnshire & Yorkshire, but will be dependent of whether post frontal cloud will clear enough to enable convection to initiate...As intimated by Nick F & Weather09, if it does, the parameters are in place for the potential of some spectacular weather!
  5. It was...It was titled 'Possible Midlands Storm Chase' but was changed this morning by a member of the site team.....Anyhoos, I've said my bit, and I'll bow out...I still haven't found my happy pills...lol
  6. You should be a politician with an answer like that!..lol...you could say that about any given day then....current weather reports should be placed in the relevant thread, and convective discussion in the convective discussion thread (this one, as it was expanded to encompass tomorrow's possibilities)...anyhoos, sorry matey, but a thread I started about a possible storm chase for me and hopefully a few others has gone considerably off-topic and it's rather irked me to be frank...I'm off to find my happy/male menopause pills
  7. have to agree, it's been happening to me randomly for the past 12 months or more....I just put it down to a bug in my browser configuration, but it's happening to others as posted
  8. Could have sworn this thread was about a storm chase and tomorrow's convective potential?.......
  9. Ok Robin, understood matey.....I'll be keeping a close eye on the outputs and on radar tomorrow morning...I fear Yorks & lincs might be a tad too far for me.....(Melton Mowbray to Newark would probably been the farthest east I could go) post frontal cloud could be an issue tomorrow, as it was on Monday, however as Monday proved, given some decent cloud breaks then all kinds of 'meteorological mayhem' can ensue!
  10. Why has my thread title been changed???
  11. Well, somewhat surprisingly it's bright sunshine outside, and very little rainfall across the UK on the radar, which poses the question, 'wheres the deluge?'....hi-res output certainly has downgraded the rainfall for today/tomorrow for our region
  12. I didn't even know that null were still going.......the site does seem to be having issues, either it's been hi-jacked or someone didn't pay the bill!
  13. Just thought I'd post this as conditions may turn potentially good for possible strong/severe thunderstorms on thursday judging by various posts on the internet...If anyone in the Midlands region is interested for an afternoon/evening chase then please pm me...Any prospective chase though is dependent on forecast of course! ......I have the transport, would appreciate 50/50 on fuel, and anyone with mobile broadband would be very welcome!
  14. erm, the report is based on yesterday's events, this thread is based on events in a different area back on the 25th April...sorry
  15. I was reading that and was thinking to myself....."Blimey, that 'Surrey'....he's a bit of a dark horse"...then I read the quoted sentence!..
  16. You probably won't believe this but I planned to work in the Banbury/Bicester area today seeing some customers, but I called it off this morning as the forecast was more persistent frontal rain and I didn't fancy getting wet......To express how I feel right now, the word 'Bugger' sums things up nicely
  17. come on, chop chop, share and share alike, we all want to see.... where's the link?
  18. great footage .....lovely capture of that rotation, not something you see every day in the UK!
  19. hmm...in this country I'd consider 15mm to be large hail, that's marble sized...we're not talking US Plains type hail here, well, at least I wasn't just to clarify, when I said 'large hail' I was referring to lots of it, as opposed to great big blocks of ice falling out of the sky...lol
  20. Yes, that's the one Pete...have been following on radar and have tracked its origin..It actually fired 6 hours ago near Honiton, Devon...quite astonishing!! That's about a 150 mile track so far!
  21. agreed, gpspete has confirmed plenty of hail...damn I wish I could see the structure of this storm, it's a beauty on radar, and long lived to boot, it's been regenerating for over 3 hours now...
  22. The 2nd of those two cells that fired up over Gloucs/Wilts an hour or so ago is still going strong and looks well organized, some very bright echoes probably denoting some large hail, it's currently streaming NEwards heading towards Towcester and will probably past just to the south of Northampton
  23. just posted the following in the Midlands thread, probably of relevance here as well so 'scuse' the double post
