How is it that thoughts on UKWW forum are totally at odds with what's being said here?
Confused!

Notable winds for Surrey currently, loads of debris just came over the fence from next doors lean-to which has lost its corrugated plastic roof.

Eunice remains king, at least for this decade!
Be careful what you wish for.

The weather is really being tough on us convective fans in the central south. Not a sniff and then adding insult to injury we just left with decaying shower activity.
Better than the complete nothingness in the South East.

Yep, this is a big fail even by uk failure standards.
Is it? Rainy mess with the odd rumble of thunder was all that was forecast for this morning was it not?

Shotgun thunder setting off car alarms West byfleet Surrey

Crud out of France will prohibit anything developing down here and anything import wise looks to slip away to the east of here.......pretty standard, rain would have been welcome.

Several deep rumbles of thunder here in Surrey, last month or so better than the whole of summer.

Incredible precip rate in cell passing through west byfleet Surrey, hail core, frequent lightning and booming thunder, even a small tree down on minor B road presumably due to sudden ground as no wind gusts etc.

Because there's too much cloud and not enough surface heating.
Looks to be a clearance(of sorts) coming into the South coast so fingers crossed, not holding my breath though.

Hopefully the stuff coming out of France can give us some hope in the SE otherwise don't see much happening in these parts.

Legit freezing here now. Gonna have to put my winter coat on to take the dog out. Good luck to those in with a chance still!
What do you do during winter, hibernate?

Everything appears to be 50-75 miles north of where most models have predicted with the portuguese low a lot further north.
Think this is a now cast for a lot of models (as is usually the case)
What does that mean for UK storm chances please?

Doesnt look or feel remotely stormy here but time will tell, just feels "off"

No Metoffice warnings as yet....time will tell.

Nice little active storm just passed through here, frequent lightning and booming thunder, great to see.

Risk of damaging winds here does seem to have reduced somewhat, something I'm very grateful of if correct.

Another beautiful day in leafy Surrey

Goodness me what a disaster. We go from weeks of endless muck to a full on Atlantic assault on the GFS this morning, this backs up where the UKMO and ECM were going last night. Given how cold April was and the terrible May certainly the worst warm period (April-Sept) I can ever remember. Still I’m sure some will attempt to start polishing this up.
No way of polishing this years summer up, its been awful.

After a hot, muggy dry day here in the
baking hot plains of India, sorry Reigate, we actually just got a rumble of thunder from a tiny cell that popped up just south of the town. That was unexpected!
Ah - Cableguy - you saw the cell!
Looks good from above Dorking as well!

It could be snowing outside their window but they'd still be debating charts 10 days away over there, it's very odd.
