  1. I think only places to the east of this feature will see wintry ppn
  2. Impressive, altho that footstep shot looks more like 6 inches. Whenever any of us (me included) you have to have the amount as we all get a little too excited...
  3. Jesus, there are people starving in the world, people who live in abject poverty, please calm down - it is snow. No one knows for sure where the 'polar low' will hit yet, the ppn has it much further east than previously forecast, so might even affect you. We still have the whole marginality issue too, that's the fun of it. Sit back and enjoy, rather than taking this all so hard. There's more important things in life!
  4. Doesn't look that way at all if you are following the radar! Nevermind!
  5. Ps: Snowing heavily in Manchester again right now!
  6. Latest track is much more over our region (further east)....
  7. The track is already different to what ECM predicted, it will change again. That's the excitement. This could go either way and will be fun to watch.
  8. He frequently posts in this thread, and besides, I would count Glossop as the NW - I have friends who live there.
  9. I'm not sure if it is intentional, but you'd receive more responses if you didn't seem to have a tint of attitude in the post... I am very sorry you haven't seen any, however it is no ones fault. I'm sure we have all been in positions where people around us have snow and we don't, it's horrible yes but just part of life and the nature of snow! No one can really predict because showers are hit & miss!
  10. That is a quote from Nick F, not myself, but he (and other forecasts I have seen) seem fairly confident of snow tonight, as opposed to rain. Usual coastal locations maybe seeing sleet. Does seem this is a feature which has only been picked up over last 12 hours, which often happens with snow!
  11. Brightening up for the first time this morning in Manchester, looks like the streamer as moved south so wont affect us anymore - have enjoyed it while it lasted, 3 hours of snow and prospect of some more later! Still got a nice covering, about 3-5cm deep on grass, trees etc not bad for just outside the city centre! That'll do nicely please!
  12. Correct link for video of snow in central Manchester! http://vid29.photobucket.com/albums/c270/hefner666/VIDEO0014_2.mp4
  13. A photo of the snow and video in central Manchester (sorry for quality, taken on phone!) Coming down heavy again! Video: http://vid29.photobucket.com/albums/c270/hefner666/VIDEO0014_2.mp4
  14. Net wx forecast goes for ,more organised snow this evening/tonight:
  15. Wooah coming down all sorts of heavy in Manchester now!
  16. haha I was like that before, don't worry its about a 10/15 minute break and it starts again!
  17. Temps have dropped from 2oC a few hours ago to 0oC in Mancs now, snow stopped for ten minutes but now started again. Lots of ppn heading in from Irish sea, hopefully it continues to make it here (and other parts of region!)
  18. Would you believe it, but it's the same in central Manchester - marginality definitely gone now - big fluffy flakes been coming down for around an hour now. Lots of ppn is still coming in from Irish sea, could be a very interesting morning!
  19. Woke up to a light covering and falling snow in Manchester, nice 'proper' snow and heavy at times! Still going!
  20. Not quite, its snowing fairly widely this evening even in urban areas like Manchester. The problem is any sort of westerly wind will warm up regions by sea - if the northerly early week sees troughs & disruptions then you won't have that problem
  21. Thunder, lightning and snow in Manchester!
