  1. Is this for this evening? I would guess temps will be a tad too warm. Well that's promising, maybe they know something we don't
  2. Just took a nosey through charts, which at this stage look fairly dry with very little in way of ppn - HOWEVER if there is one thing I have learnt over years, get the cold in first and watch unexpected troughs/disruptions form. Especially in an unstable northerly - so nothing too exciting showing right now, except some very hard frosts, but we will have to wait til early next week to see if any situations arise!
  3. No more really expected today unfortunately - plus it will turn 'less cold' later and tomorrow up to 5oC (not sure how that translates to you at your altitude!) hopefully your snow sticks around for the colder weather arriving over weekend, but I have no doubt mine will all melt!! haha
  4. Me three! STayed to to the early hours, being at work for 8am this morning has been a killer! LOTS of coffee. Still snow on ground/trees here but melting. Looking forward to the colder weather Sunday onwards and hoping it brings troughs/disruptions as this air will be less marginal and better for all!
  5. Its as heavy as we just had, and that does me fine!
  6. Was about to say the same, deffo catching up! Or atleast, is causing original band to pep up on back edge!
  7. Wish I could share it, I'm in Rusholme so not far from centre and roads/everything covered once more!
  8. Temp dropped to 0oC now in Mancs, thanks to the snow!
  9. I mean we still had some snow left over, but a lot had melted and gone all wet - then bam, completely covered. Fingers crossed for the ppn behind it
  10. Heavy sleet soon turned to heavy snow here in central Manchester!
  11. Following the radar, the ppn over Ireland is following this smaller band in front, so more for the NW (as I see it)
  12. I'm less worried about the ppn, more what it will fall as
  13. But it isn't?! arrghhh The low is heading that way, but the ppn associated with it, on its eastern flank, is very much (at the moment anyway) heading in our direction!
  14. It's quite frustrating on here tonight, whatever any one is saying about the Polar Low (or Low), if you look at the ppn, it is heading directly at us. This first area of ppn is being followed by the rest... regardless of what's forecast. If you see the latest ppncharts it also suggests the ppn moving over our region!
  15. These reports and net-wx radar starting to give me a little hope too... at least for this first area of ppn. Hopefully all that is behind it follows suit for everyone!
  16. Net-wx radar has the first batch of ppn rapidly turning wintry as it moves inland... not long till it arrives and we find out! (Also seems to be turning wintry where it was previously rain in N.I)
  17. The GFS 18x ppn charts seem to suggest the ppn will turn to snow as it move in... I'm not so sure right now tho, but certainly hope so!
  18. They've dropped back down to 2oC now with dewpoint at 0oC.
  19. I'm starting to get the sneaky feeling temps will be too marginal - a bit of height and you'll be fine. A shame coz will be some damn heavy ppn when it hits us! Either way, close to the coast or on western flank will be rain, still a shot on eastern side - this is certainly fascinating to watch!
  20. I can see what you mean, but overall the ppn isn't losing intensity = the Irish sea will work its magic, let's just hope it's snow!
  21. It's definitely knife edge stuff... very marginal so it's up in the air. I don't think rain reports from N.I mean it will be rain for all, as this is where the milder air is. There is still cold air sitting over England, and if it continues SE, hopefully the eastern flank stays cold enough - time will tell! Coastal areas are still probs going to be too warm regardless
  22. On the western flank, but it seems to be remaining as snow on eastern flank according to net-wx radar!
  23. I think the western half of this system has the less cold air, hopefully the right half can stay cold enough to be snow! Here's hoping! Definitely doesn't look like its dying as it hits the sea below Scotland to me...
