  1. Yes it's a BEAUTY, hope we get a taste of summer next week. I can't believe our bad luck this year, it's the equivalent of last winter when winter never showed up and reminds me of the pain we coldies endure all too often, hope our luck changes!
  2. The GEM 00z is a peach of a run if you like warmth / heat with plenty of sunshine and even some thunderstorms next week as humidity rises, temps would reach the low to mid 80's F in parts of the s / e.
  3. It's been a expletive deleted @!** summer so far but next week could be a rare good one across England and Wales going by the GEFS 00z mean. :- )
  4. Is that another dig at me knocker? It's not funny, you do realise we are nearly half way through July now and summer is 50 percent done, yet most of us are still waiting for it to start...at least I'm doing my bit to lift the gloom in here!
  5. The GEFS 00z mean looks really summery next week across England and Wales with mid to upper 20's celsius as the Azores high ridges in. There are also some very warm / hot perturbations. :- )
  6. Let's hope we are on track for a break from this miserable cool and cloudy pattern which has had the upper hand since June 1st. I see signs of hope, I know others on here do too and all the effort we put into this search for warmth should pay us something back soon.
  7. The GEFS 12z mean shows plenty of support for Azores high influence next week, at least across the southern half of the UK, becoming warm / very warm with temps around the mid 20's celsius range with the best weather across England and wales.
  8. For a while until around thursday of next week the GEM 12z is a cracker with very warm / hot and increasingly humid classic continental conditions with a growing risk of thunderstorms following the anticyclonic spell. The Gfs 12z is better longevity wise but this gem run indicates potentially 30c + for a time, any form of heat is sadly lacking this summer so I would be happy with either. The Ecm 12z shows the uncertainty but I think we have a shot at summery weather next week, it's not over just because the ecm says no, we know how this model flip flops as today has again proved with the very warm 00z.. interesting times ahead.
  9. There is nothing disappointing about the Gfs 12z op run if you live in England and Wales because it becomes very warm or hot and anticyclonic next week with largely fine conditions but much cooler and less settled for n.Ireland and scotland but further south it looks summery, a risk of a few heavy thundery showers but plenty of sunshine, a brief cooler blip from the northwest before the Azores high builds in strongly later in the run with temperatures rising again.. pretty much a dream run for southern uk next week onwards.
  10. Even if that's the case, the end of the week is very uncertain according to the BBC / MET Office, could become very warm from the south..I hope. The Gfs 12z won't decide it either way, more runs needed.
  11. Things are hotting up again in NE US following a brief cooler blip, temps into the 90's F with severe thunderstorms around too and hopefully we will be warming up by the weekend with an airflow from southern Europe which would last well into next week according to the Ecm 00z and GEFS 6z in particular with temps into the 80's F...long overdue!
  12. Exactly, even the Beeb pretended yesterday they hadn't shown that warm air pumping north on Sundays forecast. Hopefully it won't flip again and we will have our first proper summery spell from late this week and well into next week. Agree with Tamara that this won't be the major pattern change most of us crave but it could be an appetizer for when it does change and hopefully with plenty of summer to come! :- )
  13. Well mate this would be a welcome change for the weekend, and the gefs mean looks rock solid summery to next midweek at least..fingers crossed. :- )
  14. Those looking for warmth / heat have come to the right place because there is plenty of it by this weekend and at least the first half of next week on the GEFS 6z perturbations, some cracking BBQ weather by the looks of it with temps well into the mid to high 20's celsius and it wouldn't be a surprise if some spots reach 30c +....hopefully here comes a spell of genuinely summery July weather instead of the dross we have had for most of the first 6 weeks of summer!
  15. The GEFS 6z mean shows summery weather for a change, especially from the weekend and well into next week across England and Wales with mid to high 20's celsius. There would probably be some thunderstorms next week as the first half of next week looks very warm and humid...summery for a change!
  16. Here is a look at the weekend, remember yesterday when it looked like the Atlantic systems would be in control...well look now!
  17. The Gfs 6z op run would produce the BEST spell of the summer so far across England and Wales with temps rising into the mid to upper 20's celsius. High pressure becomes the main feature for the south, really from thursday onwards but into next week there is a growing chance of heavy thundery showers breaking out but who would mind about that with temps of 27/28c and sunny spells...not me!
  18. Well I hope so, I've been mocked enough for my positive hopeful posting of anticyclonic charts so I hope it was worth all the effort after all
  19. Earlier I heard Carol Kirkwood saying what a transformation, I thought she was talking about knocker Anyway, those of us who have been hopefully posting anticyclonic Fi charts and dreaming of a pattern change look like being rewarded!
  20. Summer is coming according to the Ecm 00z op this morning, I'm sick of the sight of those green / yellow blobs (T850 hPA) and it would be nice to see the oranges and reds taking over! Anyway this run shows temps into the mid to upper 20's celsius next week across most of the UK along with plenty of sunshine.
  21. What an Excellent Gfs 18z for the south of the UK from the weekend onwards with lots of high pressure, warmth and sunshine..temps in the low to mid 20's celsius.
  22. Looking forward to knockers reply..might stay up all night, on second thoughts...nah
  23. I sometimes wish I lived in the south, even crap summers like this one are at least that bit warmer but I'm seeing positive signs of increasing Azores high influence through the second half of July, especially from the GEFS which looks like benefiting the south most of all :- )
