  1. My brother's down the road in Flint. Said it's rumbling away like a goodun there, and a friend of his up near Wrexham is enjoying CG's and loud thunder.
  2. Been watching your storm as it developed a few miles away from me and heard a good few rumbles as it moved off. Looked like a decent one.
  3. Looks to be another cell off to the east. Can clearly see the anvil and updraft towers, and it looks like it's moving this way.
  4. I felt that too here just before the thunder started. Was weird, didn't expect the wind to be so warm, but then again it did get to 34c here earlier.
  5. Feels like the main part of the storm has passed over here. Still lots of thunder, almost constant rumbles, and some decent lightning, but looks like the main bulk of it was south of me between here and Alton. Hoping it won't be the last of it this evening as there's some more cells building behind this which I'm hoping develop as they move this way.
  6. Bright sunshine still what with the direction the storm is approaching from, and a really vivid flash of lightning pierced through it. That was...interesting.
  7. Constant rumbling to the east now, the storm is very close and looks and sounds like its intensifying quickly. Wind has picked up too.
  8. Things getting going here in Basingstoke now. Just had a small elevated storm develop and move over, giving out frequent rumbles and some heavy rain, and more heading in. The view to the east is quite menacing at the moment. Loads of explosive development within the last hour.
  9. Don't worry, I'm just playing a quick tune on the world's tiniest violin to keep things on an even keel. Edit: Heard from my brother again up in Flint, said he's getting torrential rain, lightning all around, the odd loud crack of thunder, but most of it is rumbles high up in the clouds.
  10. My brother is up in Flint (NE Wales), and says the lightning literally came out of nowhere around 11pm and is constant. Says he's never seen anything like it.
  11. The St Albans cell, now over Leighton Buzzard has exploded since my last post, killed off the cell to the south of it, and I'm sure I've seen one or two very faint flickers from it even from this far away.
  12. I have a decent view of the cells near St. Albans. They've grown from nothing in 30 mins and keeping growing. I think there's some good potential there.
  13. Morning all. Some good structure looking North on the Reading cell at the moment. Half an hour ago that was a small cumulus line.
  14. Can see the one over High Wycombe from here. Grown quite substantially in the last 20 minutes. Guess it's nocturnal cooling taking effect.
  15. Quite an interesting shape to the cell just south of Leicester on radar. Reminds me of the bow shape of the Manchester supercell last night.
  16. Pretty sure I can hear very faint rumbles here. EDIT: Can definitely hear them.
  17. Just had a torrential downpour here on the eastern edge of Basingstoke.
  18. About five minutes I had an unexpected long deep rumble of thunder from cells to the north and east. Listening out for more.
  19. My brother lives down the road in Flint, he says there's quite a bit of rumbling and flashing going on there at the moment.
  20. There's also a cell developing behind the one heading to you, between Crewe and Northwich, which has become electrically active in the last few minutes. Worth keeping an eye on.
  21. Good luck. By your location it was close but no cigar with the Ainsdale/Southport cell. Hoping you get a good storm soon.
  22. Looks to be quite an active cell in the Crewe area as well as the one that passed over Southport. I guess the radio is picking up strikes from both?
  23. I'm keeping an eye on the cell heading towards Chester and the Dee Estuary. Could pep up as its heading over the Cheshire plain.
