  1. Hi All, Hows things looking then? Must say everyone seems a bit more cheery so I am guessing the channel Low is back on track to give us a good bout of wintry weather in the midlands.
  2. Did the weather mention snow for the South Midlands as well? i.e South Worcester
  3. Would gladly take that, but I think it is wait and see. There are no snow icons across my area for tomorrow on met or bbc forecasts , I dont think they know really where will be affected on that, looking forward to it though.
  4. Thanks Soma, Has stopped now but that was an awesome hour
  5. Flakes not as big here now, still falling though, more of a sleety mix, Depending on who to believe I was forecast 0.85mm of sleet here for between ow and 18:00 where it goes upto 2.2mm of Icy Rain. What to believe I dont know. Any clue me up on what is forecast for us tonight in terms of duration of this?
  6. Heavy buig flaskes here, Did not know we were due this, how long is it due to last? Must have had an inch fall already, heavisest snow I remember seeing in memory! Loving it!
  7. Hope your right Andy, Down here we have missed out so far this week. Everything Crossed in south worcestershire, gonna be a long, late night! Anyone have a direct link to the 10pm weather update btw, cannot find it on BBC, still showing the earlier one from today THanks
  8. [The GFS is saying 50% chance for me in worcester and mainly sleet. Is this right or are we going to get some decent snow do you think? Anyone have any ideas if SW Mids will do well from this? Has the GFS got it wrong or will it be close but no cigar agaijn with just sleet for us poor midlanders?
  9. Nothing but Lovely sunny skies in south west midlands. Still bitter and actually quite nice. I will take this today Would be nice to see some snow later in the week though, feeling a little left out at the moment
  10. Bit on the Grass, maybe 1/2 inch. Fell as a sleety mix for most of the day though, any snow we had was washed away at various times
  11. Same Cornflake Girl, Just down the road from you and not a lot has happened all day, few flakes in teh breeze but only 1 decent shower between 1 and 2 pm
  12. Dissaointed here is SW Midlands, 2 showers of any note today, wa shoping for more. How is it looking for the rest of the night into tuesday? Are we likely to get any more precipitation this way?
  13. Having our first decent snow of the day. No Lying snow here yet but it is quite heavy at the moemnt, Everything crossed that this does not die out
  14. Still nothing in SW worcestershire apart from a few flakes in the air around 4pm
  15. Agreed with Paul Tall, you could only compare this winter after it has finished. Then it can be pigeon holed with another year in terms of similarity. Wether that will be 1982 or 1967 we will have to wait and see. Its a bit like Long range forecasting, Person "a" could say its going to be dry and "b" could say its gonna be raining on the 14th of September 2009 and we both stand 50/50 of being correct. Wanna know the answer, ill tell you on the 15th September

  17. Ahh didnt want to take the bait but I must so.... No way of knowing, tell me what the weather will do in 2 weeks time with any degree of accuarcy and ill tell you what it will do in 3 months time  (I wish) All I can say is I hope it does
  18. Not counting any (spring)chickens on this one. But still waiting to see my first dusting of snow this winter. Ill be here at 12am sunday morning waiting with the rest of you.
  19. Thanks LadyPakal. Seems like they are covering all their bases as well. Sorry if off topic just remembered where I was posting <_<
  20. Interested in having a read of this do you have a link?
  21. If the alps suffer at our expense all will be forgiven
  22. The forecast really does not say a lot. Just general trends that they are observing. I think at this stage nothing can be forecast. Our hottest summer ever did not come to fruition, this forecast is just as reliable. We could exereince the coldest/snowiest winter of the last 30 years just as much as we could experience a winter akin or even warmer than last year. Although last year was warm I saw the most snow I have seen in many a year (food for thought) Nothing to read into yet. Lets get through October first and see what that brings its difficult to predict next weeks weather! Nothing to get dispondant about yet. (although i do give the METO a lot of respect with its forecasts, this is just far too far ahead for anyone to predict with any accuarcy.) Gav
  23. I think its going to be a cold(ish) one 10.2 for me
