  2. Dartmoor_Matt SomersetNick and Butler_son didn't realise my earlier mention of a steak and chips would bring about the first ever cooking thread on NW
  3. steak and chips ready, b bk ltr, hopefully a bit more to see on the radar for our area by then
  4. Think the few of us from Hants have drifted into the SW forum
  5. The following probably goes a long way in answering the above:
  6. cheers Kaz, much preferred the old set up of one manic forum instead of all these split forums, currently switching between two
  7. You're confused, I don't know if we have snow coming for us or not or if I should be in the SW Forum or the South Central Forum or the South East Forum, guess I'll just go where the snow goes
  8. light snow here at mo but not worth standing outside for. Suprised how bone chilling the wind is already and how much snow had aready blown out of fields along the country roads on the way home. Think drifting will be more of an issue in the next few days than snowfall as was already several inches deep over long stretches in a few places, give it overnight and some places round here could have 8" drifts !!!
  9. thick mist here - what a let down, if I was only 30 miles to my east
  10. Thanks for the confirmation katemart, so late night shopping at Hedge End not the best moved I'd make tonight.
  11. I assume the http://www.trafficengland.com/trafficcamera.aspx?cameraUri=http://public.hanet.org.uk/cctvpublicaccess/html/19325.html M27 J9 parkgate is at a standstill as people walking in the carriageway. To the east of porstmouth M27 is stationery too. Think motorists trapped in cars on M27 will be headline news for those in the south
  12. I've just been looking at traffic cameras on traffic England. A27 near Portsmouth really bad with a depth of snow covering all carriageways, A3 Chichester area up to Guildford not too clever. Further North M4 around Reading looking bad too. http://www.trafficengland.com/index.aspx
  13. something going on? taken me ages to get signed in to forum so I can report a light dusting, probably 2 ants feet in depth here in Wallop
  14. yeap agree, 6.30pm BBC forecast looks very interesting for our area. Fingers crossed for at least a dusting from this but would love the 20cm mentioned as possible.
  15. Saw the most amazing electric blue flash of lighning driving back from Andover tonight, been heavy rain in our area all day. Although I wasn't home was told that Wallop saw nearly an inch of sleet earlier today. Was also told by my Dad that Middle Wallop was reported on the news as the coldest place in England at -10 last night. We drove back from Southampton at around 10pm last night, the car registered -8 in the freezing fog at that time. With the snow we've had, the frost, the freezing fog, rain and sleet with thunder and lightning, surface water flooding on the roads, I've got to say these have been a few of the most exciting days of weather I've seen for some time
  16. Was out and about late last night. Sleet around Wyle valley early evening and some of the other high ground along the A303. Even had very wet sleet on the windscreen down in Somerset near Ilminster. Around midnight was snowing near Gillingham and a dusting of snow was noted on the ground along the A350 leaving Shaftesbury.
  17. Optomistic I'll see some of the white stuff over the next few days. My daily journey takes me from Wallop to Amesbury over the top of Beacon Hill on the A303 so a nice bit of altitude there. Tonight's drive home was interesting. Damp all the way, heavier rain nearer home. Temps ranged from +5 to +2.5 on route. Steady rain with mist here now.
  18. think this will be the response from certain newspapers
