  1. Bloody thunder here, now. This is just weird.... Hope the pub run verifies for once!
  2. Thanks, Andy and SSIB. It does make me laugh on the Netweather FB when somebody asks whether it's going to snow in Leeds in 10 days' time. If they only knew...
  3. Thank god somebody said it! Sorry, I have no idea if Ian's post is good or bad...?
  4. And I shall be opening and closing the conservatory door repeatedly in order to set the security light off So are we going to finally be graced with a new thread to celebrate? There might be some going down (sorry, Mods! xxxx)
  5. That snizzle shower must have lasted all of 3 mins! Passed to the SW and into the Channel in the end. Haven't braved the outdoors today but temp is 3.7C, with a wind chill of -3.7C! DP is -6.0! but humidity 49%.
  6. .. and saying that, I just had a last look out of the back door on my way to bed and there is the tiniest amount of dandruff in amongst the fine drizzle! 3.9C, DP -1.1C, WB 2.5C, 70% humidity.
  7. UKsnowmap has a nice cluster over Salisbury Plain and the showers look as if they'll swinging my way... ... but at 4.3C I don't think it's gonna happen tonight. Still, not bad for November!
  8. DP now -1C here. Unfortunately temp is going up and down like a yo-yo. And the ppn seems to be whipping across very quickly and fizzling out. Reading about some snow in Salisbury, though? We're all waiting on Wales to share nicely...
  9. There's a blob of cloud that has been pasting Stafford and is headed your way. IF it doesn't fizzle out...
  10. Chappy on #uksnow says 6/10 in SN6, but then ruins it by saying it is sleet! Hopefully it will bring the air temp down for you 5.8C here now! DP 2.1C and 77% humidity.
  11. Hello again, everyone! A very dull summer for me - it rained when we went camping on the Isle of Wight and it rained whenever I had time off to do the gardening. Hoping for a little of seasonal excitement as I certainly don't feel ready to deal with Christmas preparations at the moment. So it was 10C and cloudy with rain in the morning. It's now just 7C and sunny - feeling quite chilly Doubt we'll see any of the white stuff round here this weekend but I am definitely up for a good ramp and pulling an all-nighter with anyone who's around Cheers and here's to a Winter Wonderland Kate
  12. I think a tropical storm must have just passed over Southampton - trees lashing about and torrential rain. Over 27mm of rain so far today - at one point the gauge was reading 35mm/h. August has already seen over 20% of the annual total rainfall - wonder if it will reach 25% before the end of the month?! The strongest gust was 37.5mph. Hopefully the squall line is passing away east now. Thank goodness we didn't choose this week to go camping
  13. Couple of lightning flashes and a rumble of thunder, accompanied by the most torrential rain I've ever seen. All over in a few minutes.
  14. Yup, one decent rumble of thunder in Southampton but now the TS seem to be pulling back to Sussex/Kent Feeling fresher, 4.5mm of rain so far. No stair rods. Kx
  15. Morning all! First rumbles of thunder heard in Southampton. A mizzly morning but no real rainfall as yet. 1014mB, 17C, 91% humidity but feeling quite stuffy and airless. Felling a bit concerned about my little kitten at home - it's her first storm! Kate
  16. Managed to miss all the rain although there was some thunder and lightning. 8.2mm of rain so far this month in Southampton. Very envious of the drenching they've had at St Andrews.
  17. Was hoping for some decent rain to top up the pond but just 1.2mm today. 7mm for the month.
  18. First rumbles heard in Soton. Will head off outside when the Last Leg's finished.
  19. 119 strikes per min! That looks amazing over Bournemouth!
  20. So who's hogging the Bournemouth pier webcam then?!
  21. There's some intense rain in those blobs heading towards Portland. Hold onto your hats!
  22. Max temp today was 30.9C (record on this station is 32.0 on 17.7.2013) Still 28.9, humidity 44% and finally rising. High stratos cloud now 100% (from my office window, anyway). 1009mb and rising.
  23. 30C in central Southampton. Quite cloudy. Humidity 44% and falling.
