  1. Pleasure of snow days always tempered by knowing that hubby is dicing with death in the M27 ?
  2. Oh my!!! Never seen anything like that round these 'ere paaarrts... Would that be 7am or pm please?
  3. Short, sharp shower - rain with the odd white flake in it. Temp dropped by over a degree, now 2.2c, dp -1.2c
  4. I spent best part of a grand for the boy to go the school skiing trip in Feb 2011. By the time he got on the coach he was thoroughly sick of cold and snow. I was so jealous as I've never been skiing ? 4.5C
  5. Now, that's a very good idea. No worries about transport home and some very nice pubs... *strokes chin thoughtfully*.
  6. BANK!!! Kiss your face, Karlos x Burger it, I'm taking Monday off to go with my Friday
  7. Wasn't there speculation about the Gulf Stream getting weaker once upon a time? And that would mean the UK having a climate like Norway? That might be a tad much, even for me!
  8. Definitely up for a "pub run" meet-up bimble in the snow type thing one day. It's rare enough round these parts to be worth celebrating
  9. 1.2C, DP -6.9C. If some of those showers don't get this far overnight I think I shall cry!
  10. Those showers are making it further and further south - now fizzling out around Winchester. https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar Shame the temp's on the rise
  11. Low of -0.5C last night and a high of 6.9 today. Absolutely cracking day, though, and managed to get three loads of washing dry on the line. Next weekend looks like it's gonna be even colder. Time to settle down for the haka. Come on you reds!
  12. Netweather gives me a 29% chance of snow between 3 and 6am tonight. That was a surprise! What with lamppost watching and the Ashes I shall probably be good for nothing tomorrow
  13. Hi Craig Sorry I can't help but just wanted to post the map of "official" weather stations which I'm sure you're aware of http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/climate-network/#?tab=climateNetwork If it's any consolation Southampton doesn't have one either. I was interested to see if there was because I just looked up the temp at Southampton Airport and the max today there was 29C, a long way short of the 32.3C i posted earlier. I would like to know whether the higher temp is a result of trapped heat in the city centre or just a lack of calibration between the two stations. Kx
  14. 32.3C - a record for my local weatherstation www.southamptonweather.co.uk. Feeling sorry for my little lad lugging suitcases down at the docks
  15. Hail shower at about 16.30 this afternoon and possibly a flash of lightning (although that could just be me!) A high of 8.2C today, which was just after midnight last night! Currently 5.0C but feeling much colder.
  16. Afraid not. But I shall be listening loyally on Radio Solent. Sing up, boys and girls! Have a wonderful day, everyone xxx
  17. Looking at xcweather it seems the strongest gusts are now in the eastern half of the country. Strongest gust today 40.3mph at 12.30, so hasn't beaten Conor (was it?) here.
  18. Tree blocking the London rail line and another down on Winchester Road in Southampton. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/15109074.VIDEO_AND_UPDATE__Fallen_trees_cause_travel_chaos_as_Storm_Doris_hits_Hampshire/ CBA to go across the road for my Tesco meal deal - somebody send provisions! #weatherbomb
  19. Fairly sunny now in Southampton - the rain as the squall passed through earlier was filthy! Just had the strongest gust so far - 38.9 mph. The previous strongest gust this year was 42.2mph on Feb 3rd. Pressure now rising from a low of 995mb. Wind SW. Temp 9.3. Humidity 60% and falling.
  20. Zilch here - ppn seemed to fizzle out as it reached Eastleigh. Starry, starry night...
  21. A grey morning here, max tmp 5.6C. Wind has just recently veered round completely to the East, so things are set to change, albeit just for a few days. Have to admit I'm completely bemused by the changes to the Model threads. Surely it would just have been easier to ban the troublemakers? Hoping for a few rogue showers. Otherwise, yes, it was lovely to be out in the garden in warm sunshine last weekend...
  22. Worcester ain't that big. We could just drive around until we see some naked people cavorting in woolly hats...
