    Still defiantly rain in Macclesfield.

    Not at home tonight, on Wilmslow where it has just turned back to snow after an hour of rain. Has it started snowing in Macclesfield yet?

    It is weird, left freezing rain in Macc and ran into snow as I arrived in Wilmslow. Bit topsy turvy, must be a first.

    Bbc really did single Macc out in the forecast. Just driven to wilmslow and not snowing there but coming down quite steadily up the road at cheadle

    News 24 weather said not much towards the western side but Macclesfied should get some!

    I think there was an upper warm front involved wasn't there?

    There was 18" in Keele according to the reports

    3 foot of level snow here in 1963. Again, a better part of the region to be!

    Sorry but that is not a trough it is a dying occlusion. A few flakes in the wind is all it will give. Of course a trough could form at short notice

    This is a large region remember 0 degrees here right now. Been enjoying delusional snow all day!

    Big ones may not have been winter long but frozen and snowy for January, February and start of March is a pretty long time. Particularly as in the big ones this wasn't the first cold spell

    I'd forgotten how miserable the northwest thread is, being downcast about an Easterly being forecast before it arrives! Easy to forget that on the whole the deepest snowfalls in the northwest have come from an easterly.

    I like all weather. Not so keen if it is a bit bland as it seems this week. However, I find this post very annoying and think it sets out to wind people up. Post your charts by all means but can't you leave out your emotive response. Particularly as most of the charts you post leave me under mild drizzle.

    But then again you have never posted a positive post about cold prospects. Then again maybe you have a point!

    Such a shame last Monday and tuesday were so mild seemed to lose most of the cover then.

    Even with quite a weak nw there will probably be snow on the western peaks

    You'll have to get pretty high up I think. There was a lot of melt at the start of the week

    A trend? If you see someone wearing their jumper back to front do you do the same, seeing it as a new trend?
