Hi Andy, Just about stopped in the last few minutes here. DP -1.3, temp -0.7 so if it gets warmer, could get more marginal. Kids currently being a little amibitous andt rying to build an igloo!

Will add my last post to here! On my drive back from work at lunchtime today, I can report I passed 6 gritters which is quite bizarre given the snow has thawed more or less in warks. I guess it is in anticipation of ice tonight or is there something else on the way?

So given that the showers appear to be pivoting slightly, is there no chance of any of the showers currently off the coast of east anglia, heading in to the midlands?

I have to say that whilst I am pleased to see snow in the Midlands, I'm quite disappointed at how little we got compared to forecasts. Last night we got a dusting which was here this morning, then another cm or so fell on top between 8 and 9. The rest of the day we had snow falling but not enough to stick and most of the covered snow melted. This evening between about 3.30 and 5 we got about 3 cms which is slowly thawing away now. Looks like that is our lot for now and the children are hugely disappointed! They hoped for a day off tomorrow - seems all schools in Solihull and Dudley and Birmingham are shut tomorrow. Birmingham areas fared better I see.

Snowing hard here too although the radar doesn't show huge amounts heading this way after this band moves.

Just a covering here, nothing special. Was hoping for a little more to be honest! Ah well, looks like I'll have to go to work after all!

I'd be happy with a dusting - there was a lovely covering in North Warwickshire and absolutely nada here in the south of the county apart form the odd snowflake blowing in the breeze...

Just back from a trip to North Warks. From Balsall common to Baddesley Ensor (nr atherstone) there was light snow so when we arrived in BE it was settling. Flakes got heavier and heavier... On our return it was settling well back as far as Balsall Common, but after that, Warwick, Stratford etc has nothing! Kids are gutted!

I have to drive to collect my daughter from near Tamworth this afternoon. My understanding had been snow would not start to fall until this evening, am I likely to see showers this afternoon on my drive? If so, enough to give a covering? Or nothing to worry about? I've noticed precipitiation heading inland already...
