  1. Well I was on the train the other day
A few more hedgerows would be nice. Unfortunately they get in the way of the tractors!

P.s I would guess that it's Norfolk of Lincolnshire?

It was between the two. quote]

You should have popped in for a cup of tea.

And it is correct that the local wildlife has been affected. I mean the local farmers simply can't get any locals to work the fields nowadays....

Seriously, and in defence of East Anglia, at this time of year you are seeing the countryside at it's worst. Try returning in the spring, summer or autumn, take in the huge skies, the peace and quiet, clean air and the friendliness of small communities. You might feel differently.

  2. Central Norfolk taking an absolute pasting since 10ish. Temperature now at highest for the day so far at 0.4

Last 2 days now matching Dec 05 easterly and 04 thundersnow for intensity and amounts.

    Awesome for November!

Deepest November snows I can recall for many many years and over 3 days as well with a further 2 cold days and outside chance of wintry precipitation

    Lovely!

Similar here Snowmaiden. Flurries from dawn, moderate snow from 8.30 and very heavy for the last hour. Temperature has dropped from -0.6 to -1.5 °C. What was left from yesterday froze overnight and this lot is sticking to it with no problem. Several inches of lying snow now, goodness knows what we'll end up with if this keeps going much longer. Sky is very black.

  3. Sunny intervals 10°C

    W (13 mph)

    Relative Humidity (%): 90,

    Pressure (mB): 1015, Rising,

    Visibility: Excellent

A beautiful sky to the south east at 06.58 heralding a magnificant sunrise. Clouds quickly obscured that, driven by an increasing wind. Which is now coming from the north west.

  4. Cheeky Madam!

For my second one: A live bird of prey

And it must be on your holiday, I shall check the EXIF date info !!!!

That's an easy one Louby; I'll pop down to stay with you and I'll let you take a snapshot of me! *thinks, right that's got next week's leisure activities sorted. Now, who else can I swoop down on?*

  5. Local live TV reporting Gustav is moving west at approx. 13-15 mph but hugging the coast rather than moving inland. 75% of the system is still over the sea and the eastern eyewall is regenerating. They are concerned by this current situation. They are expecting NHC to issue a bulletin in the next 20 minutes reflecting this. Tornado alerts popping up regularly now as are reports of power failures. Thankfully no reports of major flooding atm.

  6. Margaret Orr's comprehensive and clear warning of a total nightmare. After she detailed each parish and the effect Gustav is likely to have on them let's hope everyone does try and get out this time. "You have the potential for 40 feet of water moving in..." What was particularly moving was that after such a long, detailed and professional forecast, she talked of how upsetting it is to think of NO being under water again and warned her sister, by name, to get out.

  7. Cloudy

    Temp: 16.0 °C

    Wind: E (6 mph)

    Relative Humidity (%): 99,

    Pressure (mB): 1019, Falling,

    Visibility: Moderate (improving)

Thick patchy fog at midnight with a temperature of 19.0 °C was slightly surreal to be out in. Sun is trying to break through the high cloud and it feels much warmer than the 16.0 °C recorded.
