  1. Still grim here in Southend. Light snow/snizzle/sleet. No accumulations. Wasn't expecting anything, so no complaints. Well done to those that have a covering.
  2. Still light snow here in Southend. Not really settling that much. Just a cold miserable slushy day.
  3. Unless the ground is sopping wet, which would mean heavy persistent snow is required for accumulations...
  4. Been a crazy day here in Southend. We have had every shower type going. From huge Hail and Graupel to huge snow flakes and sleet. Light and very heavy. Along with warm sunshine in between!
  5. Yep no surprise. I expect Wakering/Barling etc were similar! Crikey we had 2 foot + drifts here in Southend.
  6. Rapid thaw going on here in Southend. Amazing in fact. All roads clear and just patches left of the grass and of course the mega drifts. Was good whilst it lasted!
  7. Other than the huge drifts right in the middle of Southend town. The most surreal thing was getting in the car this morning and not having to clear snow off, such was the extent of the wind blowing it around. Proper Arctic conditions. A great end to winter here.
  8. Shower train about to come to a halt now and the sun is trying to peek through. Temp up to -0.6c and Dew at -6.7c Hoping it remains cloudy to preserve the pack! Sorry to all those that missed out. I know exactly how you feel. Most of the winter I have felt that way, watching others get pasted. But last night, we got lucky.
  9. Yep. You would have to go back a long, long way to see such drifts in this area. I remember a similar level of drifting in the early 90's. Unheard of in March though. The actual accumulated snow on most surfaces is not that deep. Only about 8-10cm generally. But the drifts, even in the middle of town are 2 feet + God knows what the drifts must be like out Wakering/Barling way!
  10. Quick snap from here in Southend. For those that are local this is the Sutton Road roundabout next to Jones Memorial football pitches. About 2-3 FEET drifts!! Rotated it the right way now!
  11. It is incredible when you think this is the main artery to Shoebury and isn't that open. I can only imagine what it must be like out Wakering way!
  12. Quick snap from here in Southend. For those that are local this is the Sutton Road roundabout next to Jones Memorial football pitches. About 2-3 FEET drifts!!
  13. Thats me done for the night. Showers look like gradually fading away over the next couple of hours. Maybe a bit longer on the frontal band for those in the south. Good luck to those who have missed out today.
  14. Think we have passed the peak here in Southend. Activity looks like it is slowly decaying offshore. Been a good evening though and a nice winter hoorah!
  15. Yep. Think we have peaked down here. Been a great evening though. A super last hurrah from winter!
  16. Shower train starting to die? Looks that way on latest radar update?
  17. Another whiteout here in Southend. It really is incredible to see this in March. Best event of the whole winter. Madness!
  18. And now Arriva have just cancelled ALL buses across the borough!!
  19. Lovely covering on all surfaces of about 2cm here in Southend. Looks like you lucked out AFT.
  20. Coldest March day in Essex since 1986 according to Essex Weather.
  21. Mad. We have about 2cm laying on all surfaces now. Slightly less on roads, but all still well covered. Localised or what!
