  1. Broken my cold record on my station here overnight! Forecast low was -2 but the lowest was a short while ago at -5.6c and is now -5.0c. Not bad for this locale! We have a small frost hollow effect here, being in a shallow dip, so there’s no wind at all. Up at my dad’s on the cliffs of Capel it’s not gotten below -4c as he’s not lost the breeze.
  2. Oh no! I imagine that’ll also be us on the south coast on Wednesday! Hoping we all get to see a bit of snow this week.
  3. I will take any crumb of hope so thank you This morning has started sunny and colder, currently coldest it’s been since midnight at -0.3c and a DP of -2.7c. Good luck today for any snow showers clipping those of you in Norfolk and Suffolk!
  4. I’ll take a 30% chance. Last Monday’s snow was lovely to see falling but I’d like to see a covering. Early February 2021 was last laying snowfall here, we had falling snow periodically from 7th - 11th February and snow on the ground until 14th. Not bad for far SE (though 2010 was better)
  5. Wasn’t it if they’re facing east we’re onto a winner? Fascinating weather watching at the moment. After Monday’s under forecasting of the snow, I’m interested to see where this all goes over the next week or two
  6. Also no frost here with the strong breeze - currently 0.7c but feeling much colder. I see there’s regional squabbling again in the model thread. Some saying it’s great at day 9 for snowmageddon (when will they learn) when M4 south is under rain. How they think it’s going to end that way I don’t know, let alone being so confident they start up with the “well it’s great for us” party. Edit: I note that when someone more southerly mentions it looks great for the north and they just hope it improves for south they still get shouted at!
  7. Just clipped a yellow patch for a few minutes (sun is now back out typically) and it came down heavy! IMG_9121.mov
  8. Just caught the edge of one of the yellow blobs going down the channel and it was heavy for a couple of minutes. At the moment all the good stuff is off the coast in this area. What did fall laid readily though so for those of you who do get the convergence zones later it should be all good.
  9. Made a conscious effort not to look at the radar for a bit rather than looking frame to frame and this happened! Using the link @Tom Quintavalle added earlier is good as shows what’s coming out of the continent: Buienradar.nl - Buienradar.nl - Weer - Actuele neerslag, weerbericht, weersverwachting, sneeuwradar en satellietbeelden WWW.BUIENRADAR.NL Actuele buienradar en actueel weer voor Nederland en Europa, actuele satellietbeelden, actuele temperaturen, neerslag, en veel meer!
  10. I agree, some of us SE’ies are well overdue a proper blizzard. While some in Kent/SE overall did very well last couple of winter’s, there was nothing here. I know today won’t be like that but, I’m hoping for a 1997(?) or 2010 style fall at some stage this winter. There was also a very good one early 80’s I can just about remember, maybe 1982. Some of that please weather gods
  11. Brace yourselves, I’m snowed in: What’s not funny is that’s the most snow I’ve seen since 2021 Temp: 2.6c DP: -0.2c
  12. Despite the radar showing snow, it’s raining lightly. Like Alexis in Dover, I think by the time the proper cold uppers arrive later, it’ll be too late for us with the positioning of the precipitation. Temp: 2.2c Dew Point: 0.3c
  13. This is a good one for current dew points. I like that you can scan back over the last few hours too to see how the cold air is moving about: WWW.METEOCIEL.FR Points de rosée en temps réel des stations de France et des pays limitrophes. Edit: you can see the dark blues marching towards us from the east!
  14. A few years back when I lived a mile or so further inland but about 100m higher it snowed one evening. I posted a short video of it and was told I was lying by a non-SE member. Made me laugh. Temp down to 3.8c DP 1.5c
  15. Holding steady around 4.5c here this afternoon, 7.7mm of rain (if only it was snow, the rough 1mm = 1cm would have made for a nice covering!) What time are the lower 850’s due over our area?
  16. I would think some of the higher points are seeing snow. For me, we had some sleet a short while ago in a heavier burst, despite it being 3c with a DP not far lower.
  17. Annoying the dew pints are just a little too high this morning otherwise we’d be full of posts about surprise snowfall. Maybe the highest points in Kent might be seeing some very wet snow or sleet this morning? But here, just regular rain (as usual) Temp: 3.8c Dew Point: 3.4c Rain: 4.09mm (and can hear it on the roof so more to be added to that total)
  18. Having had no snow at all from any of the last two winter’s offerings, I will be keeping a very close eye on it all!
  19. As your sister has said, things are a lot more positive regarding this type of cancer. The ability to catch it early and get treatment started is so much better. Good luck for when the treatment gets going. And good luck to those of us hoping for a few snow flakes on Monday. It’d be nice if we get a taster to then be delivered the main course the following week
  20. Interesting how the amber warning isn’t down to the south coast, despite the higher gusts being expected there. I suppose maybe because we’re used to 50-60mph gusts? Already up to 16mm of rain today
  21. Greenland is silly but enjoyable, apparently there’s going to be a second one. I love a good weather and/or disaster film; GeoStorm is verging on the almost too silly but was ok enough.
