  1. It looks like the south is drying up, starting from the south coast and progressing northeastwards. The really juicy stuff is further north.
  2. I think if anything tomorrow looks better than Wednesday as there will be plenty of shower activity and light winds. By Wednesday the winds will be stronger so if a storm occurs it will move through very quickly.
  3. I had an intense storm in west wickham about half an hour ago. Lots of thunder. The rain has moved away now but I can still hear thunder.
  4. Brightening up in central London. The radar shows a nice line of heavy showers to the east. They have intensified in the last half an hour.
  5. Yes, the convergence zone has the potential to re-create what happened nearly two weeks ago when parts of London were affected by flooding.
  6. The Euro 4 shows a line of torrential downpours over London for this afternoon!
  7. It hasn't even rained in west London! Looking at the Euro, I am not expecting anything for the rest of the day. I just wish this dull cloud would lift. Tomorrow is looking more promising, especially for the southeast. However, a northeasterly flow may also mean a lot of low cloud.
  8. Agreed! I am also looking forward to some sleep at night
  9. Yes, it looks like a dry weekend for the majority of the country. At some point it looked like much of England and Wales would get rain/showers but the downgrades have been continuous.
  10. The 6z ICON has adjusted the low even further south compared to its earlier run.
  11. It looks like London will be the northern extend off any storms tomorrow. That's assuming they make it here. Let's hope there won't be any more southward adjustments.
  12. The high slowly erodes but the thundery low tracks further south (mainly over France) and then moves north over the north sea. Still some action for the southeast in particular but only a day or so ago it looked a much more widespread event as the low was projected to be further north. It looks like we will have an light easterly flow on Saturday and a northerly on Sunday.
  13. Not good to see the southward adjustment of this weekend's low on the gfs and Icon. If this continues France will get the majority of the action.
  14. Shower broke out over Bury St Edmunds according to the radar. The visible satellite also shows speckled clouds over East Anglia
  15. According to Euro 4 Cumbria is the place to be today but the forecasts here show the southeast as having the highest chance. I will keep an eye on how things develop
  16. I won't be surprised if we don't see another spotless day this year.
  17. It doesn't look good for west London with everything well of east of here. I wish this westerly flow would stop.
  18. Completely cloudless skies in west London. At this time yesterday there was some cumulous bubbling up
  19. Scattered towers to the west of London now. Regardless of whether they lead to a storm or not, at least they are nice to look at. I got bored of the empty skies of the last week.
  20. The NHC is now expecting Elsa to regain hurricane strength before making landfall in Florida.
