    Same here. Came out of supermarket and temperature had dropped, winds picked up and driving rain. Rain got heavier and then we had 3 claps and some lightning. One extremely bright bolt out the back immediatley followd by a loud clap. Seems to be coming in waves. Rain eases, then torrential again etc etc Making for an interesting evening at the moment. Is it the front passing through? (Says the novice to the experts! lol)

    Hi just come in out of garden and seen a few, a couple being really bright. So you reckon it's worth staying up for a bit longer then? i thought it would be peaking earlier.

    Hi all Was on the phone to my Dad who is in Canterbury in Kent about half hour ago and we were having simultaneous lightning. Sometimes we would get the following thunder in Essex and sometimes him. It was actually getting quite freaky. Sounds like another lot heading our way. The last was about 10 minutes ago and ended with a huge crash followed by what sounded like 3 or 4 explosions. Never heard anything like it. The wind is really gusting here now too.

    lol Just caught a weather forecast on the BBC before I leave. It was a classic! I know it was meant to be just an update as it was at quarter past but all she said was 'Good morning, if you live in England, Ireland or Wales chances are you are going to wake up to snow tomorrow. Take care' Talk about cover all eventualities. Sorry mods but I have posted this in media thread too. Just couldn't resisit sharing as it made me laugh.

    A great storm. 2nd of night. Went to beach to watch first one at about 7pm. I know my son will rememebr tonights one for a long time to come! :o Hi :o Drove down your road earlier. We went to East Beach to watch storm

    As mentioned on convective discussion we have a few rumblies, rain, sun, rain and more sun. Looks pretty black at moment. Not observed any lightning just yet but eyes are peeled. Actually last rumblie was about 5 minutes ago and nothing since so perhaps it has passed over for now. :blush:

    Woke by very heavy rain. Don't know if we had lightning and rumbles with it. Once it stopped though we have had a few rumblies. Getting closer then they stopped. Looks like that was it for a while. All gone quiet now. Maybe time for sleep again. B) Ok edit that because there had been nothing for a good ten mins then as I mention sleep we get another rumble. Ok Time for sleep (hint hint)

    I also just checked outside b4 bed and got nice dusting too. Snow was still falling but that was 10 mins ago and lampost at other end of house.

    Just been a slight sprinkling of snow here, looking a bit like someone has dropped icing sugar all over on the bits that had melted. Hopefully more to come judging by radar.

    Snowing again in Shoebury.. Sort of.. Getting the occassional heavier gust and then nothing then light.. Can't make it's mind up. EDIT: Decided on a light/moderate flurry

    Just a a shower of ice pellets which settled for a few minutes. thawing out rapidly here.. huge puddles when I went up the shop EDIT: I suppose I shouldn't complain... Managed to have a great snowball fight!

    Just been scrolling through the radar ovenight and about 5 this morning the clouds shifted over and hit us directly and from then on the precip has been heading straight at us... Will be watching with a close eye today.

    Still snowing here and been constant for last 15 minutes or so. Sky still looking threatening and no sign of the dreaded sun. Happy to say that if anything its getting heavier not lighter. The hole i poked on next doors car first thing this morning is starting to disappear again. Ok I spoke too soon.. Its getting lighter as I type. This is great after driving home in unexpected (to me) blizzard conditions late last night.

    Was awoken by a text from a work colleague saying 'look outside' and woo hoo. We have approx 3cm laying and more falling now. looks like more may come over judging by the sky. I'm sorry I called us snowless Shoebury last night.

    I know this should be in the media thread but I jjust caught the latest news24 weather and yes snow showers are predicted throughout the night in essex, kent and east anglia and more in the morning before probably turning back to rain. :huh: Sorry mods for posting in wrong thread but I thought it deserved a reply

    Just drove from Eastwood to Shoebury through a very heavy and blustery snow shower where it was settling nicely on the roofs etc. Got home to Shoebury to find a very minute dusting on a few cars! Shoebury the snowless land

    More heavy snow with huge flakes.. trying so hard to settle but ground still too wet from last lot melting

    Our 'snizzle' also turned to a heavier fall... flakes getting bigger as i type

    Woke up to covering of up to an inch on top of cars. couple of cm elsewhere. Moderate/heavyish snow showers on and off and called a snow day and now home again..... woo hoo!!!
