Just sleet here unfortunately.

Snowing in Llanelli!
-
First post back in a little while, would be nice for an "upgrade" in terms of temperatures being slightly cooler than forecasted, especially for us near the coast/lower levels where 90% of the time its just that degree or two too warm for snow unfortunately.

Some of the biggest hail ive seen in my life about half hour ago!
-
Some very violent gusts of wind here today! We are used to the strong winds/gusts down on the coast but there was a menacing feel to it especially when the power went out for 3 hours
-
Just had a rumble of thunder here now too!
-
Wow! Wish I had been there to see it!
If the temperature was a little lower we would of seen a lot more accumulation I presume since it started off as rain again and we never actually got down to freezing!
Wow, pretty cool how much snow is down on the beach!
Yes, I was very surprised, some of it is still there now! Thawing rapidly though

Well what a day it's been for snow in Llanelli! Snowed pretty much from 5am right through to 8pm with some of the heaviest snow I've ever seen here! 2 inches has fallen, maybe not that much compared to some places but thats almost as good as it gets here! It took just over 2 years to get a decent snowfall event here but it finally came!

Llanelli snow is so rare we NEED photos tomorrow!
Yep shall upload the best ones tomorrow!

Just seen a snow plough....ploughing!..In Llanelli!!! That is a rare sight! Temp dropping slowly 0.7c
-
How much have you got?
2inches and rapidly approaching 3, we've already matched what we had here in Dec 2010
-
This snow is epic! Been waiting for this for years!
-
Really heavy snow here again, some nice big flakes
-
Snow has actually settled on the sand banks where the tide is out between Llanelli and Burry Port, which I havent seen for a while! We've had an inch so far here but a much better covering than last friday. Still snowing lightly hoping for a little more!
-
Havent seen snowfall like this for years! It was worth the wait! Hammering it down!
-
Heavy snow here has been heavy for an hour or so, a good few cm's has fallen already!
-
Just took a drive up to nearby Trimsaran and Pen-y-Mynydd which is at around 160m asl and there is plenty of lying snow there - deep drifts against hedges, and side roads are still completely covered. Elevation really does make a big difference! Snow falling nicely up there when I left but more of a sleety mix down in Llanelli.

Hammering it down here at the moment! With rain though!
-
To me it looks like there's a gap between precipitation and that gap may mean we miss out if it continues travelling in the direction it currently is
That would be just our luck!
-
Temperature wayy too high here at the moment 2.3c...though it is dropping slowly!

For me living in the south west of Wales, the 12z NAE is a big upgrade with us joining in the fun also tomorrow. Need future runs to back this up however. We will see.
Do you think this could be less marginal for coastal area's than last fridays event as things stand with the NAE at the moment?

Good to hear
There are some surprisingly big flakes mixed in every now and then! Is that band on the radar to our NW moving SE'ly?

Not much more than a bit of sleet mixed with the rain here so far
