If we do get some snow tonight/tomorrow I hope it's not as marginal as last time for us in Llanelli...4 hours of rain beforehand ruined the snow accumulation depths here
-
A few flakes falling here
-
Just started to snow here again, can't see much on the radar though!
-
further snow showers, on average i would say theres about 7 inches
Really!? Where in Swansea are you? I'm guessing your elevation has made a big difference
-
We've had around 1 and a half inches here so far, still snowing but small flakes
-
Everything turning white! Brilliant Temp continuing to fall 0.6c.
-
Finally! It is snowing!
-
Temp falling slowly 2.5c...hurry up!!!
-
Dry here too, can still see lights towards burry holmes on the end of the gower so no substantial precipitation falling here yet
-
I am very interested as to whether Llanelli will get a couple of inches, colleagues living in that area say they have never seen more than this before. Certainly a chance. Hopeful of 4 inches minimum here and preferrably 8 inches!
Tony in 2004 I measured 6 inches of snow from a pembrokeshire dangler, which is the most I've ever seen. We were very lucky that night since the streamer ran through Llanelli and some surrounding areas for many hours in the night. Apart from that 2 inches would of been the most I can remember since the start of the 90's.

Someone in the south west thread is posting updates showing the cold air from france racing across the English channel and turning the precip to snow on the precip type radar...looking good!
-
Latest NAE looks slightly better again for western areas to me...!
-
Was planning on sleeping earlier tonight and waking up early...don't think im going to be able to sleep full stop! Its all too tense!
-
Wow! Incredible!
-
Temp slowly dropping now - from an earlier max of 2.6 down to 2.1
Yes, Similar here it's dropped half a degree in the space of half an hour. Wind picking up too
-
The yellow warning area has been expanded to cover all but the very tip of Pembrokeshire
-
After seeing this mornings charts I'm starting to get my hopes up...a lot! I know theres still time to go but this could be the first significant snowfall here for a long time after the surprising lack of snow in my area during Dec 2010
-
Snowed here for a good hour lightly/moderately, nothing stuck though. Temp 1.5c Hopefully a taster of things to come
-
Glad to hear Llanelli is having some, I don't mind if you get a couple of feet of snow, at least I'll have a day or two off work there then haha
It has stopped at the moment If we get a couple of feet of snow down here I will eat my hat!
-
Got a few flakes coming down here!
-
I wouldn't even take the amber alert area literally, anything could happen
Indeed! I'd of thought geographically Llanelli would be slightly better off for snow than somewhere immediately on the coast in this situation since we have the Gower as a bit of a buffer especially with the wind forecast to come from the SE. Maybe I'm wrong but there we go!
-
This is all getting very exciting! Even though I might be in the marginal area, cannot wait to see what happens on friday!
-
Getting some hail/graupel here at the moment, starting to build up on cars and the pavement
-
Pembrokeshire Dangler setting up further west
Indeed! Some heavy bursts in there too, 1.9c here though so not expecting too much!
