I thought we had to measure from a flat concrete surface?
-
Where are we measuring the snow depths, sorry if I missed it? I did mine outside the back door on the path initially which was 2.5 cm but then did my bin lid in the front garden and it was 4 cm. Do we have an agreed standard?
-
I just measured 2.5cm here ;-) I believe temp mya be above freezing now as it's not dry snow anymore and sticks together really easily unlike this morning.
-
Really hoping that heavier band gets here but have plenty so far :-) Am glued to the radar in anticipation.

Tough one, in london a couple of cms 's of snow falling quickly can bring traffic to a standstill so hard to say. I think it will start slowly though so may be able to judge when it's getting too bad an leave in time?- 877 replies

What I don't get is surely the presenters who do the forecasts are doing it based on what they have been given or do they base their forecasts on the charts themselves?- 877 replies

I did point that out to them and reminded them of last week but hey if they want to close that's fine by me, 1 less school to be phoning me tomorrow ;-)- 877 replies

I do IT support for the majority of Croydon schools and one told us today they were closing tomorrow. Thought that was a bit premature but hey ho.
-
I did and told everyone on facebook to prepare for snowmaggeddon.

East for me too please Paul. With the front stalling and building for a month......

I warned you alll...oh wait it's moved SE instead of West, stupid weather not knowing how to obey the laws of physics! Still, good news for us I guess -) 30 or so hours to go until we know how it's going to pan out.
-
I warned you all but nobody listened and hence are now disappointed. The experts on here have told us the GFS has an Eastwards bias I believe so we can expect further corrections over the next 6 runs I expect. I think we will get light snow and for a while but I don't feel it's going to be disruptive unless there is a big correction Eastwards.
