  1. I've just seen a nearby flash but I can't tell where it came from and the winds really picking up. Could get very interesting very soon
  2. Definitely, it's not worth putting myself and others at risk over a photo Good thing is I can see cloud forks out to sea
  3. So. I've decided to stay on my home patch, I can see the cells near Cherbourg flashing away every 5 seconds or so I've been up since 4am, going for a long drive is probably not the best thing to do, especially at night and on roads I don't know. So I'm keeping everything crossed for something local, Eastern areas should do well though, so good luck to everyone
  4. Thanks everyone with your recommendations, Portadown hill looks like a good shout, I'm gonna give it 10 minutes before deciding It's looking Very dark to my west, the light levels are dropping so fast it feels ominous
  5. I'm really struggling on whether to stay local, or head towards Portsmouth way, I'm feeling it go either way Any recommendations for locations north of Portsmouth?
  6. While to some extent you are correct, the models have been all over this convective spell for around 5 days, could you enlighten us all on how you can forecast by reading the clouds 5 days from T0, we'd all love to know !
  7. This could be nothing but what are the chances of storm firing around the are at the top let of the line I drew? Looks like a front to me
  8. Exactly I can recall Many occasions when people were posting that it was a bust, when in reality everyone was focusing on the wrong drivers. Let's wait and see, there will be some great footage on here come tomorrow afternoon mark my words Some will win and many will lose that's storms for ya!
  9. Certainly better than it being out in the North sea, one to keep an eye on
  10. Don't be silly, it 5G Edit, just to be clear I'm not calling you a clown
  11. Ooh la la, I think it's time to start scouting some locations with decent views, It all comes down to this evening to salvage 2023, we need to make this count
  12. The more I look at the two areas of activity in the channel the less worried I'm becoming, as others have said, they don't appear to be eating up too much fuel, and I believe the higher CAPE levels will arrive later onto the evening All to play for if you ask me
  13. It does sound amazing, but I was just joking It's a Ghostbusters reference and not really relevant when it comes to the weather, even though you could say it's been a ghost storm season when it comes to central southern areas, so sorry, I'm just getting a giddy
  14. Total protonic reversal if these two meet.. Just topping up the camera battery before I head out for the 3rd time today it's almost like a proper storm season.
  15. I know, you might just squeeze a nice golden hour storm, but the one I mentioned isn't hanging about. This still might not be the main event so there is that, but I might be totally wrong
  16. I thought you'd be heading east, I'd say there's a much better chance between IOW and Kent later in the evening, especially if you're intending to photograph the storms, but Milford on sea is not a bad spot either way, good luck
  17. I wonder if they are bonus storms or if that's our lot once they pass through. Answers on a postcard
  18. Are these the storms that were originally showing on yesterday's runs? I thought 7pm onwards was when storms were expected to develop. The ones that are heading towards CS areas will be here way before the sun goes down Give me strength
  19. I'm currently sheltering on Barton on sea clifftop, it's mostly thundery rain, with the odd CG thrown in It's better than nothing I guess
