Southern Storm

It was indeed, I almost missed it completely while watching Elton John absolutely killing it at Glastonbury. Looks like there was a decent amount of clear skies judging by the amount of pictures that have been posted in the thread It would have been a real shame if the UK missed out on tonights display. Unfortunately the clouds didn't stick around for too long, and I genuinely thought it was a false ID for a while, just going off how quickly they seemed to fade, but as darkness fell more and more I was still able to see them on the back of the camera 2023 NLC season is finally up and running, at least it is for us southern folk.

I see a nice cheeky little bonus Cell is heading towards Basingstoke, I can see some nice cumulus building to the North of my location.

Yeah, it looks like it's just muck making look like there was something there 2023 has been a big letdown so far, and that way things are going, I don't think I'll be wasting anymore time going out unless the webcams are lit up. At least we have storms to look forward to! Oh wait.. no we don't

There looks to be another line of instability running from Swindon down to Southampton, I wonder if there could be a few surprises along this line as it moves further east?

I've been sat in the car down at Mudeford quay, I didn't really seem much lightning, but I've been hearing plenty of distant rumbles, not worth staying up for though, but it's something I guess. And finally we have some proper rain.

We've just had a heavy shower pass over Christchurch, no lightning, but it looks like the next cell behind it has stated producing

A new cell has developed northwest of Le Havre, Looks to be heading towards Brighton if it makes the crossing

Don't you just hate it when plans get in the way of storm potential. Just clocked this on the other side, do you think our potential is from what is leaving the french coast atm, or is it from the main band of rain that's expected to come in later in the late evening/morning hours?

It would be nice if we could squeeze a storm out of this evenings risk. We had this pass by an hour or so ago, nothing too spectacular, but the camera bag is at the ready just in case.

I'm not 100 percent but it's definitely in a different location to the one I'm seeing over by the Isle of Wight. I have a couple of bolts from that one.

The cell leaving Cherbourg is flashing very frequently! Not showing the lightning maps though
