    nothing apart from the odd bit of cloud, still time yet . its quite warm outside and the sun still has some power in it.

    Thats an anomaly chart, a bit of yellow around Greenland does not mean that Greenland is going to melt. and I think that its safe to say that something has happend to N A C look at that cold anomaly crossing the atlantic intresting times.

    Hi Chionomaniac is it the troposphere effecting the stratosphere or vice versa? also if the Gh and Ph join together what would happen to the polar vortex? does it have a chance to regroup and separate the block? or is it something that could lock in this pattern for the rest of winter? Thanks

    some very low temperatures for November showing up now in the CET zone don't know if they are forecast to get this low Birmingham -8 Manchester -8 East Midlands -7 And still a few hours for them to fall further Maybe the CET get down to 5c before the month is out.

    with -10 uppers over the relatively warm channel, can we expect to see a lot more convection?

    Even if it is a spot i don't think it matters that much, we are still seeing very low activity, and would it have been visible using older techniques? having new ways to look at the sun is great, but also makes it harder to compare this downturn with past events.
