    2cm fallen here in Pencoed, South Wales since 3pm so not bad & still coming down. I can't see this lasting till tomorrow lunchtime tho - the front will have passed us by 9pm tonight I reckon....anyone else think the same?

    I don't want to put downers on people as no-one loves the snow more than me but we must be realistic - this cold spell was always going to end at some point and I really believe today is that day. The snow flurries have stopped here now - lying snow is thawing very quickly this afternoon and it feels far less cold outside. I think the mild air has won over and people need to accept this. Fact. Any precipitation of any real amount would now be sleet/rain I believe.

    Whats changed then? I thought we were having light, persistant snow over a few days with no huge accumulations. Have we had an upgrade today or is this wishful thinking?

    I would have thought its impossible to forecast every bit of PPN - especially when its making its way across from the other side of the country. These showers can only be picked up by 'nowcasting' on radar etc. Its quit fast moving - probably only 10 - 15 mins of light snow

    Anyways back to the weather...I see the latest snow charts lose their pink colour after Sunday with the chance of snow falling to around 50% for most of the time. What are the TV forecasts saying? Is this a downgrade?

    Its because I dont have any childcare when the school closes (which it does at the drop of a hat!) No work sounds great but I have to chosse between either no pay or take it out of my holiday allowance. I'll be either skint or will have used up my annual leave by the end of January at this rate!

    I know - I imagine the schools will be closed now until after the weekend. Lovely for the kids but a nightmare for us that need to work or lose pay / annual leave

    Theres lots of cloud scudding across the sky from the East which is darkening the sky every now & again & producing the odd flurry. I didn't realise that the radar wouldn't show up all clouds - you learn something new every day!

    Looking at the radar though its going to drop south rather than stall and deliver a constant supply from the streamer Blimey - we'll never be happy will we?? Or at least I won't lol!
