  2. Now explosive development to the south of manc and Stockport http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Edit, and around north yorks
  3. WOW, thanks man! I really got lucky today then Just looked at the meto radar for past hours today Darton surrounded by red colours most of the afternoon and early evening.
  4. Mods feel free to move this if already been discussed. The weather forecast (BBC) this morning here in south yorkshire was "starting cloudy with patchy drizzle, becoming brighter later but mostly cloudy with the chance of a very light shower or further drizzle. Top temps, 20C, 68 F. The start of the forecast was spot on, grey with drizzle on my way to work this morning at 6 AM. I got back at 11 AM today and temps were already at 21C. At 3.25 PM temps had risen to a peak of 26.3C with angry looking skies. Comes 4.15 pm a sudden downpour with 5 large cracks of thunder. Brighter for 15 mins then the mother of all downpours with 1cm hail and frequent lightening. 5.45pm another thunderstorm passes through, 50 mins of torrential rain, (back garden flooded to 3 inches of standing water) Today in Darton: Max temp, 26.3C rainfall, 56mm Average pressure, 1026.7 Mb Wind NNW force 2 or less. Thunderstorms, 3 (one moderate, 1cm hail) Quite suprised really with pressure been that high, What went wrong!!??
  5. It's this storm that I'm watching, explosive development!
  6. Looking out west from barnsley towards the pennines and manc things appear to be developing very rapidly indeed, just herd thunder, moderate occasionaly strong easterly wind now with cloud moving EEN
  7. Something quite intereasting here, we are between showers at the moment and looking out west to the pennines two anvils have formed out of nothing in under 1 hour. GET THIS... at intervails of roughly 5 mins (over the last half hour) there is a huge sudden rush of wind from the ENE, dust and fag ends off the street seem to get lifted to a good height. Last one measured 26mph. Then as quick as it arrived it then dissapears to flat calm. I've never witnessed this before, is there a name / phrase for it?
  8. This is the northern edge of the sheffield storm, constant drones of thunder from it now. Picture taken 5 mins ago.
  9. High quality storm just passed through with a slow rotating base, 22mm of rain and small hail in 30 mins reports of 66 mm rain in 40 mins in Mappewell.
  10. The santa reference for me: We will get cold rain with 3 mins of sleet due to the 850s been MARGINAL
  11. I assume that shower to the south of Manc has become a storm, looking out to my west just seen the large anvil ive been watching for the last 40 mins light up!! B)
  12. YES that is happening here right now, almost stationary cu / alt cu and cirrus speeding past up above.
  13. Well john, I bet the guys at the IPCC office would laugh their asses off if they were to read this thread. Its turned into a snow watch kinda joke. I have thaughts and ideas so on - so on but It's got to the stage where I do not dare contribute to netweather climate change threads anymore due to all the sniping and my AWG is bigger than your AWG! Peace man B) Lets be VERY CLEAR on something here fella (fellaress), NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE anywhere - IPCC or otherwise has got any evidence WHATSOEVER Mankinds understanding of this subject is still woefully insuficcent. What will happen will happen but in the meantime I take my hat off to those who are brave enough to do the research on a professional level and publish there "findings", this will help us all to learn, evolve and get the hell off this planet! I know what some of you are thinking.... where's his evidence to back this up
  14. Nothing has done more to “GREEN” the planet over the last century than elevated levels of CO2 (regardless of the source), together with moderate sun-driven warming. Numerous government and academic studies show clearly that doubling CO2 levels increases plant growth by 33 percent, on average. It is no accident that commercial green houses spend significant sums on CO2 generators to drive up growth environment CO2 levels toward the 1000 PPI optimum to increase plant production. Farmers, ranchers, foresters and, in fact, every living thing has benefitted from this rare natural gift of warming together with CO2 enriched atmosphere. The real question in all of this is why have world governments, with the help of academia and the media, worked so hard to convince people that warming is bad and that they, the people, are personally response for it? If you want to make a difference in this world focus on and address this last great question!
  15. I don't post on netweather very often but reading your postings is always pleasing to me. Keep up the good work! Since 2001 I've been conducting my own little research project for solar output and once I have all the data together I'll post it. I think there will be a few raised eyebrows in here! There will be those who say well done for taking the time and effort and those who pull it apart and those dismissing it as utter anti AWG tosh.
