  1. Thats a bit harsh Is'nt it, Did I ever mention that the temps in other regions were'nt worth the mentsion? You are a cretin of the highest order. As a fully qualified meteoroligist I sometimes wonder about some of the posters on here. To me You're just after a fight with your "VERY DARTON" response and lack of tact, show some respect to other posters why don't you and make it a pleseant experience for everyone. I now realise how frustrated John Holmes gets at times.
  2. Now -9.84C........ and thats with cloud cover from the front over lincs. Could be a real belter when the cloud eases east and clears Edit, Now -10.07, the first time I've recorded this since 1995 :smiliz19: And just for the record, this is using oregons high end EMR89965 reciever and oregons THR129pr 479Mhz wireless custom made sensor.
  3. Turned very sleety here now, more rain than snow, temp risen to 1.7c from -0.5c in the last hour. 4" new snow today EDIT: now 2.1C mostly rain 2.2c!!!
  4. Much stronger more organised convection in the N sea now heading inland. expect more prolonged showers into the evening. Meto warning for yorks now orange!!!
  5. Been 5.3c here most of the afternoon, just starting to fall a little, now 4.2c. Wind switched from nnw to nne too.
  6. Right, lots of you might find this VERY useful http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ They have turned on the precipitation type in the last half hour.
  7. It's all about radar watching now, Don't know if I'm allowed to promote another weather site but I use http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Barely gets 20 mins out of date. I'm no pro in this field but I would not rule it out, The ppn keeps banking up and constantly re organising even now....... It's been doing it all day!
  8. Then consider this, Here in barnsley I'm 113 miles from the coast and in the last 48 hours we've had 17mm of rain here dispite paul hudson constantly saying patchy light rain and dreary drizzle! And the current ppn doesn't need to move 150 miles north, It's aligned with us currently.
  9. I'd be very cautious of that local forecast if I were you the North sea looks very buisy indeed and notice the westward movement of the showers out to sea now!!!! http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  10. Still wet and miserable here. Hey PIT...... As well as having a great summer sheffield storm shield do you have a show shield too? We allways tend to do very well here at darton top for snow showers from the NE
  11. Raining on and off here with 2.3c must be close to sleet now, unless DP's and uppers are higher
  12. Just to clear up, I'm perfectly capable of reading the colour codes, prehaps my wording wasnt the best Mabe up to -15 would have been more appropiate, not that I'm picking flies or owt.
  13. The Icelandic IMO atlantic ocean model 00Z has the -15c 850s over eastern england on thurs afternoon and into friday. http://en.vedur.is/weather/forecasts/atlantic/#eg=temp&type=temp
  14. 18Z rolling Please accept my apologies for my eariler outburst, YES I'm thoroughly ashamed at that.
  15. My thaughts too Kold, our reigonal radio forecasts are truley awful at best. I sometimes think they record temps against a brick wall in the sun!
  16. Well, I feel a little blue this morning. Whilst washing the dishes I had BBC radio leeds on and their breif 5 day forecast was not encouraging. Today, sunny spells with a few light showers later, Max temp 7C Tonight, cloudy with light outbreaks of rain, 4C Monday, damp with light rain on and off, temp 6C tuesday, sunny spells occasional showers 8C weds, mainly cloudy, 4C thursday, sunny spells, feeling pleasent in light winds, 9C Yes, I know radio forecasts tend to be very poor but......... Whats happened? Seems a bit far feched when veiwing the model output!
  17. No doom n gloom from me either, this is bloody fantastic, whilst theres no immidiate snow fix this is deffinately an upgrade. The progged pattern aint going to be removed easily, fantastic times ahead. REMEMBER..... It's not all about the 850's, two nights ago here I got down to -2.6c, the 850's were +4c. As has been hinted here before, expect some skull shattering cold at times overnight in the coming 2 weeks! Enjoy, I'll stop singing and dancing now
  18. Lovely....... bring it on baby Odd heavier burst on meto radar http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_latest_radar.html
  19. Sorry, but I cant resist this.... http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Is that a Thames snow streamer or should I say rain streamer
  20. This for me is POST OF THE WEEK, thank you chris for this. Yes thats severe consistancy for ya. Gfs = top of the class and a gold star. Night all
  21. Yes, All our biggest fears are that the ECM is like the quiet guy sat in the pub in the corner minding his own buisness and you have the three loud louts at the bar (GFS, GFS para and UKMO) screaming, swearing and threatening the bar staff. ECM has had enough, gets up takes the big three outside and gives them a bloody good hiding.
  22. Also worthy of note, so far upto +105 hrs notice how much stronger the H500 heights are compared with the 06Z.
  23. Sorry this is way off topic but....... With all the up and coming excitement It's nice to see some of the forum "lurkers" come out and contribute. If you are a lurker and can no longer contain your excitement, come out and say hello! :o Ric
