  2. Eastbourne, UK

On Friday, July 28, Eastbourne Coastguard took to social media to post pictures and warn residents about the sinkholes on the beach by Sovereign Harbour.

A spokesperson said: “This is a safety message for the public, especially those who wish to or have visited this beach. We are currently trying [to] arrange for some sinkholes that are forming to be dealt with. We urge all members of the public to please stay away from this area to avoid any injury or further holes forming..”

A 'sinkhole' had also appeared in Seaside Rd by the Royal Hippodrome Theatre over the weekend of July 23-24. The road is partially blocked dt the hole, and the hole has been cordoned off.

your safe in the UK then 😎..here we had the exact situation in the very cold spell of December last year ...Teslas etc were literally dying on the highways as the cold drained their batteries rapidly

Not here up in the hills away from civilization..

In the coldest climate of the UK 4c colder to low ground..

Last December's severe frosts would ve been a good start..

Anyway I have tractors some old classics which always start in the frost fordson Majors,I ll stick with them I think..

interesting that it is still above the old 1961-90 average ..so probably would have been a pretty a typical average summer month back then

There wasn t the cloudcover and record rainfall back then back during the mums and dads era..much more sunshine more stable summers..

Video footage showed the moment a powerful blast ripped apart a street in the city's central business district sending vehicles flying and killing one person, while others were left trapped in cars.

Underground burning from the Methane released during this crunch. Weak rock connections snap during such times, as was shown in the Johannesburg rupture.

  6. Yesterday actually turned out to be a good sunny day after a very slow start..

One of those very rare days with no rain saying that now...a month or 2 ago would be one of those very rare days it did rain..

This pattern of drought and deluge has gotten alot worse..

Have you got that rain that literally does nothing, except you can feel a drop on your skin every 30s. If so, welcome to se type weather, for the last few years re rain, unless it's heavy.

    Not really..

    Today was very different..

As for 2007, not sure. That month had three settled days at the end of the month, so if this doesn't happen, it could be argued that the month will be worse even than 2007. That year also had scattered sunny days earlier in the month, e.g. 16th, 18th, 22nd and 24th.

Yes you are right last 3 days..2007..August was a good month but cold nights..

This week has been dire with slack movements and watery clouds which seem to want to drop rain in a strange manner today..

I’ve just looked at the met office medium term forecast and glad I’ve booked a week away in August. It seems the heat dome down south is causing this long run of UK weather to continue into August at the earliest…….  And cooler next week 😕

They are making it up as they go along heat dome causing the jet to dive well south of the UK..

Last time the jet dived well south in summer was those summers 2007 to 2012..

Anyway this week is looking calmer..

We have to look to the NW for our weather now even so after tomorrows slacker low..

wednesday to friday best days for a while and today..

Cooler but sunny chances showers hopefully further east..
