  1. From the local rag... A DORSET based forecaster has issued an orange weather warning ahead of heavy rainfall expected later today. The forecaster Dorset Sun has issued its own orange weather warning due to heavy rain which we can expect to see over the next 24-hours. However, the Met Office has not issued any weather warning ahead of the expected downpour. Dorset Sun said: "A deepening area of low pressure is expected to move in from the south on Wednesday afternoon and could see up to 30mm fall quite widely across the yellow shaded area. OK own up who goes under the alias of Dorset Sun?
  2. Morning All, after a low last night of 6.9°C at: 06:06, currently at 10.9°C with rain shower overnight adding 0.4mm ... Cu building nicely this morning , in a very light WSW breeze. Sat image shows the rain in the SW approaches... Beachcam shows the influx of cloud, in from the SW..
  3. I missed it, it's been raining and I had my head down with my laptop, attempting to fix some of the worlds problems! Oh well, according to the electronic measuring device a nice 3.0mm of rain has cruised through...hmm does look overcast though I have to admit..
  4. Can it get any worse? A cR@P winter overall, and a really boring April, has taken to us May, whence ...... well let's keep an open mind but the SE still look to have something to sing about..It is what it is, so taking each month/day as it is mother nature RULES...
  5. Wow you got lucky best we have reached is 12.8°C at: 14:18..was out in Strouden Park and some sunshine for a while, but as the below shows a peak and then hardly anything...
  6. Some breaks here earlier this afternoon, but since then a 100% cloud, keeping my eye on the imports across the channel, hoping for some more rainfall from these...
  7. Light drizzle with the temperature hovering nearr to the lowest measured since midnight, currently 10.8°C..with the beachcam showing the cloud cover nicely..
  8. Morning All, a brief shower adds another 0.2mm to the monthly total..the overnight low temperature has only just recently occurred with 10.6°C at: 08:58 with a light breeze in from the W..
  9. Overcast but dry for the most part, some drizzle this morning around 10ish, but dry apart from that.. with the warmest part of the day, ;late this afternoon.. 12.9°C at: 17:01..with the breeze fairly consistent all day, with a slight change more towards the SSW, but apart from that little change..
  10. Morning All, a damp night adding 16.2mm to the months total, this will help the garden after the dry April.. choppy seas this morning, with HMS Severn moored off the Poole Harbour entrance (waiting for French fishing boats?). A warm night with a low of 7.6°C at: 03:18, currently 10.6°C with a moderate breeze in from the SW..
  11. Morning All, last nights low 0.9°C at: 06:11, its already up to 7.9°C in a sunny cloud free (apart from way out in the channel) sky with no breeze and a solitary boarder searching for the ultimate wave...!
  12. Good job you don't live in Texas then, with the ail they picked up there this, it would flatten the kids!
  13. Unlike Knocker's area the rain is currently out in the channel as the beach cam shows nicely... Will it get any closer than this is the question as the channel runner heads east...seemingly shrinking in apparent size, so currently guestimate suggests it's unlikely to affect us..
  14. Morning All, a clear night with no breeze has allowed the temperatures to drop to an overnight low of -0.9°C at: 04:01, currently -0.6°C, it may of course go lower as day breaks..
  15. Morning All, after some overnight showers, that seems the order of the day as another approaches rapidly.. Last nights' low a mere 2.2°C at: 06:25 and currently 10.6°C with the wind having picked up again from the NNW.. The beachcam shot this morning shows the approaching shower (which I am under now) as it moves along over Poole Bay.... And 5mins later it looks like this.. And 5mins later reaches the webcam..
  16. Has been the same hereafter peaking at 13.8°C at: 15:03, the wind has been fairly constant through the day, but the sun has warmed nicely, so no complaints... the beach again is deserted, I bet the town shops are really feeling this right now as a Bank Holiday week in this town usually means "Get the heck outta Bournemouth ... the grockles are here.." but not so this year... (not that I live in Bournemouth, but...just waiting for the government folks to do as they did on 1 April 1974, and extended the Dorset boundary...maybe they'll move it to include Christchurch now its part of BCP..!)
  17. Morning All, a sunny start to the day, with the cloud streaming in from the west, and the breeze increasing in strength from the NW. The overnight low, mild by recent days, was 6.5°C at: 05:53, and currently we are at11.2°C, rainfall so far this month has now exceeded Aprils drought figure and stands currently at 6.6 mm...meanwhile the beach looks quiet today....
  18. Yup, it's windy... Oh and we've captured 0.8mm of rain, can't see us getting too much more out of this one..it's just too far north... A tad choppy down on the beach as a few folks tempt the surf..
