From the local rag... A DORSET based forecaster has issued an orange weather warning ahead of heavy rainfall expected later today. The forecaster Dorset Sun has issued its own orange weather warning due to heavy rain which we can expect to see over the next 24-hours. However, the Met Office has not issued any weather warning ahead of the expected downpour. Dorset Sun said: "A deepening area of low pressure is expected to move in from the south on Wednesday afternoon and could see up to 30mm fall quite widely across the yellow shaded area. OK own up who goes under the alias of Dorset Sun?

Morning All, a damp night adding 16.2mm to the months total, this will help the garden after the dry April.. choppy seas this morning, with HMS Severn moored off the Poole Harbour entrance (waiting for French fishing boats?). A warm night with a low of 7.6°C at: 03:18, currently 10.6°C with a moderate breeze in from the SW..

Morning All, after some overnight showers, that seems the order of the day as another approaches rapidly.. Last nights' low a mere 2.2°C at: 06:25 and currently 10.6°C with the wind having picked up again from the NNW.. The beachcam shot this morning shows the approaching shower (which I am under now) as it moves along over Poole Bay.... And 5mins later it looks like this.. And 5mins later reaches the webcam..

Has been the same hereafter peaking at 13.8°C at: 15:03, the wind has been fairly constant through the day, but the sun has warmed nicely, so no complaints... the beach again is deserted, I bet the town shops are really feeling this right now as a Bank Holiday week in this town usually means "Get the heck outta Bournemouth ... the grockles are here.." but not so this year... (not that I live in Bournemouth, but...just waiting for the government folks to do as they did on 1 April 1974, and extended the Dorset boundary...maybe they'll move it to include Christchurch now its part of BCP..!)
