  1. The hottest September ever would suit me perfectly. We deserve it after the rain we have had over the past few weeks.
  2. I really hope so. I wouldn't care if it lasted well into November after all this wet weather. I just want to see some sun
  3. I reckon it might be reached in early August and probably stay hot right through September. Well, that's that's what I hope anyway. I know people will say that a hot September doesn't bode well for a cold winter but I would gladly sacrifice winter just to get some heat.
  4. Am I the only one on here who is wishing for a mild, dry and sunny winter? After all the rain we've had I feel we deserve a few months of dry weather. I like snow but not if it's Atlantic driven which means wet, sloppy snow. I'd be willing to give up all snow for a dry winter this year.
  5. A record breaking September? Who knows it may carry on through October. Although we lose the light then I wouldn't mind the heat.
  6. Hopefully not until next February. I'm hoping for a dry and warm winter to make up for June.
  7. I am right in the CET zone and can tell you that here it's been really muggy at night. Even when daytime temps are only just above average the nightime ones are very high. It's sure to have an effect on the CET.
  8. Beautiful day, hot and sunny all day. Lovely evening too with warm temps and a little breeze just to stop it being too humid. Ideal.
  9. Good luck, Sarah. Hope the weather stays fine for you, but whatever it does I hope you enjoy your big day
  10. I hope you're wrong too, Ian I want a scorching summer with heatwave after heatwave, then a rapid cool down at the end of September ready for a good winter. What I want and what I get though are probably two very different things!
  11. Crikey, I never knew that. I knew, of course, that northern areas of the UK hold on to the light longer than the midlands and southern counties but having enough light to read a newspaper at 1am is something I didn't realise. Amazing.
  12. We've got the Derwent Dam to supply water for this region but eventually if we have many more months like April then a lot of people are going to be struggling, especially in the south east. No real sign of rain either.
  13. Had a little bit of rain here at the start of the week but not enough to make an impression on the ground. Everywhere is still very dry and dustly.
  14. My bluebells have been in flower over two weeks now and are starting to die off. I must say, I've never seen them bloom quite so early. Incredible.
  15. Hi Tamara I know I've got a bit of a reputation as a warm weather lover, and it's true, I do love soaring temps in the summer. However, like yourself, I do like my winters cold and snowy and I too am hoping for a rapid cool down this autumn so as to give us a better chance of some proper winter weather. You mentioned powdery snow in your previous post ..... now that's my idea of wintery heaven! So rarely seen these days but wonderful when it does happen.
  16. Ah, a lady after my own heart. I remember that winter well. I was seven years old and my cousin and I made an igloo in the garden. It seemed to last for weeks on end before it melted. I love heatwaves in the summer but for me winter is epitomized by 1962/62. I doubt we'll see another one like that.
  17. I'll go for a round number, 14C.
  18. I can't really pick particular months for my favourite weather but as regards seasons past .... Winter - 1962/63 Spring - well, I can't fault the one we're having now. Summer - got to be 1976 Autumn - October and November 1993
  19. Well, although less cloud and rain would suit me nicely, I see where your coming from.
  20. Wow! Now that would be brilliant if it came off
  21. Nothing spectacular here. A few snow/graupel showers and that was it. I wasn't expecting much so therefore I wasn't disappointed. I'm now looking forward to some warm springlike weather and a scorching hot summer.
  22. Beautiful day here. Sunny and not a cloud in the sky. Temps slowly creeping up.
