Hey Charlton. That was a wonderful description of life in that bad winter. Although not here in that time, I was at school in North Yorkshire in the mid-late 60's and I remember most winters being much colder and snowier. Like you I remember the ice on the inside of windows and huge icicles dangling off the eaves. Snow on the bed in the morning...... Who in their right mind would want that now? John, Great info.
