No frost at home this morning, cloudy and damp. A little bit of mist on the way up the M6 in the fields and towards the hills to the east and in the usual spot where the Lune runs under the motorway. Apart from that nothing to see here

Raining again here this morning. Garden now beginning to look like a marsh.

Heavy shower just passed over here. Bit of hail in the mix with this one.

Been dry here since late morning. Any showers before then were all of rain nothing remotely wintry in the mix. Exciting stuff

Not a great end to the year for some here. Flood warnings issued for the Ribble at Ribchester, Samelsbury and Preston. We've been stuck under this rain band all day here.

Persistent heavy (ish) rain here since 11am. A really miserable day. I'm even thinking of sticking some whisky in my next cup of coffee.

Chopping and changing through the models… reminiscent of recent winters… low pressures modelled too far north…don’t think we’ll have pinned down Christmas Day until Christmas Eve… all modelling after that is eye candy… 40cm gfs 06z to 3cm 12z gfs… to be fair sunny cold frosty Christmas would be nice
Sunny cold Christmas would be great yes. At least I will be able to keep the booze on ice outside the back door .

You are right. Fronts from the SW bumping into the block rarely if ever reach here. We need a straight N to S aligned stalling front in an ideal world here. Too far out for any pontificating yet anyway. My toys are in the pram ready to go though

Certainly windy here at the moment nothing too extreme but it's a gusty night. Little to no rain here at all what did fall only just wet the ground.

Another dry warm sunny day here. Not as hot as the past few days. No rain in the forecast for here until at least Tuesday/Wednesday, looking like a pleasant weekend too. Enjoy

Quite often see charts along those lines posted in winter relating to snow cover and snow depths. Has been remarkably dry here for weeks now, with no real frontal rainfall on the way for at least another 6 days.
