Looking at the pictures above those of us in this part of the NW may as well be on another planet. Amazing the difference even a couple of miles can make.
Started to rain again here a few mins ago.

Looks like the colder air is arriving here. The precipitation is dying out. In fact it's just stopped raining.

I think ChrisR thought we would struggle here, we arent getting the intensity and we probably have that sea breeze against us too. Maybe if we get in some heavy stuff but radar doesnt look good for that.
Yes I know, was an attempt at humour. You'd think I'd be used to it by now as well

Haha I notice there's no update time for when it'll start snowing here.

Yeah it’s a bit moist here at the moment and plenty more showing on the radar.
Moist .... now thats a word that needs to be used more often in the daily TV weather bulletins

Same here, it's really coming down at the moment.

Sadly I don't think its snowfall that will be making the news. Warnings now saying potentially 200mm of rainfall in parts. Coupled with melting of any laying snow its really looking a bit nasty as far as potential flooding goes.

Forecast rainfall totals looking really worrying this morning. Currently just on the edge of the Amber area here, but this can and most probably will change looking at the predictions,

Had about 3 hours of snow; but none stuck at all as it's so wet
Where are you in Preston?

Snow's coming down here in Walton le Dale, Preston now
Temps dropped to 1ºC but everywhere is sodden, so doubt it'll stick unfortunately
Nothing but rain and sleet in this part of Preston

Looking forward to some back edge rain here , things certainty looking interesting though for those further inland over the coming days.
-
Cold and wet here, looks pretty similar for the next day or 2 as well. Back to exercising inside I think

Just home. Really quite heavy snow between the Carnforth area and Lancaster. M6 outside lane unusable in places. Still snow down to Forton area ..... then it just stops and everything is green again.
Home its light drizzle and all the patches of snow from last weekend have finally given up. What a difference in 20 miles !!

Morning all. Nothing overnight in my part of Preston. Driving up the M6 there same story W of the M6 towards the coast, and inland until you hit the Galgate area. Theres an area of localised heavy snow just South of Lancaster assuming its altitute related, as further N again theres no cover once you get past Lancaster. Up here between Carnforth and Kendal no snow at all - plenty on the hills to the E of the M6 though. May take a trip over to Kirkby Lonsdale area tomorrow for my permitted excercise looks like theres a bit of snow over there

Can't see more than a sleety mix imby for tomorrow. Current met forecasts seem to back that up. Sunday looks like one of those occasions where the low tracks to the south of here. Dumping a load of snow all points from a line of the m65 south. Remains to be seen what actually happens .... But tomorrow would be our best chance imby and I'm not sure it's going to be cold enough here.
