  1. Chucking it down here in Crawley, looking very grey and murky!
  2. There does appear to be some activity in the channel now
  3. Apparently it's snowing in Rouen in Northern France, so cold air wrapped up down there. I wonder if that will head north to cover our region with any wintriness?
  4. Damn it! Just outside, probably be looking to my north and getting extremely jealous! haha!
  5. A lovely snowy scene here in Crawley, been pretty heavy for a good half an hour with light snow for an hour before that. Not sure how long it's due to last but a nice way for this cold spell to end!
  6. Wow that sucked for you! Here in Tilgate we got around 2cm last night, that shower must have just grazed you.
  7. Lovely heavy shower just gone through Crawley, temporarily turning everything white! Heaviest snow shower I've seen since Feb 2005! Hopefully we'll get some more overnight, although with the wind direction changing tomorrow I'm not expecting to see anymore snow until late Thursday now.
  8. At this time there is no point asking when will it snow, as literally no one knows for sure! All we can do at this stage is be patient, I know that's difficult (this week seems to be dragging big time!) but we won't know until literally 12, maybe 24 hours before any snow can be forecast with confidence. Snow wise best bet is to wait till Sunday to see what is being forecast for Monday, then see what happens on Monday to see what's going to be happen on Tuesday and so forth.
  9. As the BBC weather update on twitter says, it's very much up in the air as to what to expect. Considering that the diversion starts from MONDAY, only 72 hours away, I'm not surprised they haven't changed it much. If it's still there (more or less) on Monday pm then I might start getting a little bit excited! (coldie perspective)
  10. Well I can see Gatwick airport from my window and there's no snow lying and the planes are flying fine!
  11. No doubt it's all to do with whether that wave phases with the jet or not - miss it and you can see what happens on GFS. Engage it and you can see what happens on the ICON. Won't be confirmed either way for another 24 hrs I should imagine.
  12. Can confirm here in Tilgate (south side of Crawley) there is some light snow floating about!
  13. FYI - here at Gatwick we've got about 3cm of snow on the ground!! Kidding! We have drizzle...awesome ;o)
  14. heavier now here at Gatwick - some horizontal movement going on!
  15. based on looking at the lamppost light from my Office, appears to be snowing here in Crawley
  16. It's 3 miles from my office to home! However if we get deep snow next week then hell yeah I'll walk it!
  17. I'm here! Work in Crawley, live in Tilgate - cycling home around 6pm tonight so should be fun!
  18. No, not the same model suite - the one yesterday was using the EC long term outlook - so essentially covering Jan and Feb - these as Ian F alluded to showed HLB again. What Matt tweeted was about the NAO from that model which showed to be negative for Dec/Jan. Todays tweet is from the EC Ens. Hope that helps
  19. Interesting stuff Steve and thanks for your explanation as to your "mood" yesterday! Question I have, and this is to anyone really, is why has it all gone Pete Tong? Why are we not on the brink of a decent cold spell? If it's been answered elsewhere then forgive me :o)
