  1. damianslaw Could it be a similar story for the coming summer i.e. wet and dull but also very warm and humid?! If so it most certainly won't be fondly remembered by me! That said, it could also be a hot and dry summer with relatively low humidity but the concern is the warm SST's to our south west will work against us for that?
  2. *Stormforce~beka* Yes, after a brief sunny interval this afternoon, cloud soon returned. However, tonight you've guessed it, the skies are starry!
  3. WYorksWeather Hmm, not looking great really, but what will be will be!
  4. If I remember correctly, there were some forecasts going for possible max's of 42C in July 2022, but as you say the peak of the 850hPa arrived at the 'wrong time'?
  5. Wade She'll box your ears for saying that!
  6. *Stormforce~beka* What happened to all that lovely warmth you had this morning?!
  7. Well, the sun did make an appearance briefly this afternoon, but now back to rather cloudy! At least it has been dry all day.
  8. Jonnoramo87 Do you know what model is used for that?
  9. You had better not start moaning about it being too warm and sunny now! Rather overcast here and wasn't 16C before 11am, in fact it's not 16C now! In Absence of True Seasons I hope you're wearing sunglasses, your eyes will need time to adjust!
  10. Jonnoramo87 December 2013 was very mild but 2015 was a different ball game altogether and bordering on a warm month, as opposed to exceptionally mild!
  11. WYorksWeather In that case I'm not going to enjoy summer one bit! That hot and humid week we had in August 2020 was dreadful and the worst I've ever known. I was relieved the weather turned unsettled and cool during the second half of the month!
  12. Knowing the way things are, you won't need the heating on come December!
  13. I hope not, that would be the worst scenario for me, hot and humid for long periods! I will go as far to say that I would rather a 2007 washout! On the other hand, I would be reasonably happy with a 2018 redux, which for a large part wasn't too humid.
  14. cheeky_monkey Interesting! I suppose for summer prospects, perhaps it will come down to the strength of the La Nina we are going into? Some forecasts are going for a moderate event, whilst others are going for something stronger.
  15. December 2015 perhaps! Must admit though after a few warm/humid days, it is rather chilly and overcast today.
  16. cheeky_monkey not sure we are looking at an abrupt transition to a strong Nina this year, so probably not?
  17. Typically after a rather murky day, the skies are now clear!
  18. It had better not!! That said, probably won't make any difference anyway!
  19. LetItSnow! 2015 was the first to feature a heat spike. Apart from that, a very mediocre summer.
  20. Not humid this evening like yesterday but not cool/cold like in some areas.
  21. If only the weather gods cared or listened about what type of season people wanted (and this very much includes cold winter seekers, too)! What are you going to do if we get a 2012 repeat?!
  22. Who knows these days?! During the last 10 years we have had several heat spikes with the hottest day on record (at the time) achieved in July 2019 in what was otherwise not a particularly hot summer. Obviously that record fell in July 2022 in what was a genuinely hot summer but even then that came in the form of a heat spike.
