  1. This will not be our default pattern moving forward. We will have a dry period again with droughts!
  2. Early April 6th 2008 saw a few inches of snow in the south and although it had almost all gone by mid afternoon, temperatures didn't exceed 2C in places. Now, that is exceptional!
  3. Me neither?! Just has well it didn't cool down that much in autumn and winter then! After a slightly wet start today, has been largely dry but rather overcast.
  4. Another fairly bright day with no jacket required, even though it was rather chilly in the shade.
  5. *Stormforce~beka* well, move further norf then where there’s no orrible cold wind!
  6. *Stormforce~beka* blimey, I would have sweated buckets if I had gone out in a winter coat and scarf today! In fact, I would have probably fainted! I should think so!
  7. Yes and what is concerning is that we had an April only 3 years ago that was almost 1.5C below the 1961-90 average! Has the climate changed that much in such a short space of time?!
  8. danm A bit of a contrast to a week or so ago!
  9. B87 If it is, it will be warm rain!
  10. Yes, the GFS has been showing that for several days now.
  11. raz.org.rain had all upstairs windows open for a while this afternoon.
  12. Weather Enthusiast91 I think there's a fair chance I may see a 20C Christmas day in my lifetime, although I hope not! I think the way things are currently though, you will be pretty close to the mark for 2114!
  13. Taking into account advancing climate change, April 2114 will probably be hot!
  14. danm Was out in a t-shirt today. Cooling off significantly now though!
  15. Been a very decent day here. Not always wall to wall sunshine but very pleasant and was fine in a t-shirt on my walk. Definitely and a great day to get out and about! Tomorrow is looking similar.
  16. I remember Atlantic 252 no GFS is not wrong.
  17. raz.org.rain Nope, colder and wetter than average now all the way to December, when a big old Bartlett sets up to give record breaking warmth!
  18. damianslaw My guess is certainly looking better than it was a week or so ago!
  19. lassie23 Felt like it yesterday, combined with the wind, but at least it was bright and sunny!
  20. B87 I suppose with August 1998 coming so soon after 1995 and with the previous August being the 2nd hottest on record, perhaps I'm not giving it as much credit it deserves?!
  21. SunnyG If so, it's arrived too late!
  22. August 1998 wasn't anything out of the ordinary really, better than June and July, but not outstanding. Spring 2018 obviously wasn't great overall for warm seekers, but nor was it awful either with a few days of near record breaking heat in April and May was pretty exceptional all the way.
  23. B87 For variety, spring 2018 was excellent with something for both cold and heat lovers. However, even for those who dislike cold, May made up for at least some of what March and April lacked. It seems to me that some are only focusing on poor periods during seasons, i.e. June and September last year seemingly ignored? I don't know of many cold seekers who claim winter 2010/11 was awful because following that brutal December, January 2011 was unremarkable and February very mild? Cold and snow was largely done for that winter after Boxing Day, but what occurred previously made it memorable!
