Whatever snow and ice was about has completly gone here on the east coast - Maybe expectin sleet or rain later, probably fall as snow for a while few miles inland though so travel to work could be a bit tricky.
The latest GFS def upgrades the threat of snow for NI but I think it will be a bit hit and miss. Looks great for the South. Had a light snow shower last night and with the freezin temps it was a nightmare driving as it just sticks and freezes.
Hail/snow mix right on the coast - Sure mile inland would say was def falling as snow. Left a tricky coverin of hail sure be a bit hazardous later when it freezes
I think apart from the snow the Ice on it's own would of made a great xmas anyway. So funny walkin up from town tonight with people falling on the black ice including myself!
Can confirm we got light rain with that weather front passed over but 13 miles up the road in Carnlough and Glenarm it was snowing heavy. Needed the heavier precip to fall for the snow. Bit hit and miss
It was like the time Belfast got snowed in yet 5 miles down the road it was clear as anything. Shows how hit and miss these situations are. I remember comin up by Ballynure over the hill and Belfast in the distance was just a whiteout. Amazing scene.
This coverin of snow is bound to last for a few days yet - got another good top up early evening so could def see a white xmas without a doubt! Was talkin to my mate in Alicante his daughter said Belfast hardly got anythin think that why it isn't much news worthy. Was comin back earlier and Belfast to Islandmagee was almost clear but once you hit Maghermourne comin up to Larne it is a winter wonderland! Shanes hill got plastered
Unreal here in North East Antrim must have 10 inches now! AT SEA LEVEL; Haven't seen the likes since years ago! Proper Artic snow the kids are lovin it!
