  1. Sitting here thinking whats all the fuss is about . By the time the rain gets up here its be lighter and it will be just plain old boring rain rather than anything to heavy/torrential.
  2. I'm sure if only a 'few' houses being flooded it will still make the national news. Maybe you are right though it might not be as severe but however as its in the south it will still make it onto the national news.
  3. All storms are good IMO. I mean i'm sure Magpie will relish some CC flashes over his house, i feel that aslong i see some lightning i'm happy but we are all different.
  4. Metcheck is not the most accurate site so i would take that lightly. Tomorrow will be interestin and i be hear thinking what the fuss is all about?
  5. i doubt 1000s will be killed so don't know where you got that one from? There could be some thunderstorms embedded but the beeb seem to focus on the intensity of the rain rather than anything else so just wait and see. Sorry jshaw forget what i said about the 1000s being killed , i know why you said that now.
  6. Just different clouds moving in different directions not really unusural i have to say but can be nice to look at.
  7. Nice storm for the past hour to my north with lots of thunder and 2 CC and around 7 CG strikes came as a surpriced but what it started from i'm very happy even if it was not overhead but close enough to keep an interest.
  8. Post your storm reports here: To start the thread i had an overhead flash of lightning and bang with torrential rain, gusts which flooded here in 10mins. There were some gusty winds also throw in for good measure so overall i'm happy
  9. So how do you enter the competition then JACKONE? Do i have to wait until 2008 or something?
  10. As others stated its a bit early for predicting snow but just for interest i would say Aberdeen will gets its first snow on the 9th Novemeber Inverness - 27th October.
  11. Here in leam lane i saw 2 flashes and heard 9 rumbles of short thunder. Better than nothing.
  12. I agree with people who say that summer is not all about high temps. Even if we get no real heatwaves the summer will be slightly above average still. I'm more bothard about the lack of sunshine than tempertures to be honest. I mean today for example was the first day for a while where this area got a few long sunny spells and despite the lowish temps(15 or 16C?) it felt nice in the sun and it was warm enough to wear a t-shirt.
  13. And it does not look like its going to be a nice day on thursday either which could mean no chance of seeing the linguring twlight(though saying that theres little difference between June 21st and 22nd for example) like this area for the last week.
  14. I agree with you Mark we have still got a few more months of heat left, before we are looking for cooler conditions. So far this June its been an East/West split in terms of sunshine and temperture so if i was in the West i would be saying so far Summer is acting as the name suggests but has i am in the East its been more Autumanal but without the wind. I guess it will keep the SST down so i guess that could be good news for the coming winter instead of rely on Oct, Nov and Dec to gives us the cooler conditions. But of corse pleanty time for change.
  15. They do need a kick up the backside don't they? lol. Because recently there service has been awful and i suggest you should send a complaint to them(if thats possible).
  16. Even if i wanted the buy NW rainfall radar i probably won't be allowed because me dad knows the met office supplies a free radar so whats the point plus its there money at the end of the day. I also think it has nothing to do with being on Virgin broadband, i'm on Virgin aswell so i highly doubt its anything to do with them. Maybe because i'm on windows XP? Who knows?
  17. Well we all got different points of view i guess. Most people said today the radar has been stuck since 4 but mine is working fine after a glitch at 7. Despite the problems i prefer to have a free radar than a 1 thats costs. I guess NW could make that 5 min radar free but then we would live in too much of a perfect world then .
  18. It has been poor in the last few days and always seems to be stuck at 19:00. Still i will never pay for the NW radar even if its reliable - me parents won't accept it anyways and why use a one that costs when we can use a free radar which is mostly reliable.
  19. Even if you only get very heavy rain, for me personally that can actully be quite exciting. Its better than looking at just cloudy skies with light or no precipitation falling.
  20. Moderate rain here non stop for the last 2 hours. Did had a few slightly heavier bursts but apart from that its pretty dull and boring weather.
  21. Well you got more than this area got from the whole of last summer, I would be gratful if i saw what you saw this morning even if it was not as good than on the south coast.
  22. Who thinks that the Met office should change the colour of the downpour( which are shown as white pixels) to a different colour because i find it quite hard to define whats a downpour and whats bit the sea when we got situations like this. Or is it just me? On a bit more on topic now and its looks really good for the SE and EA so i forbid you good luck. I'm going to bed now because the only thing i will be looking forward two tomorrow is low cloud and of corse see how that low develops.
  23. Just watched the forecast and it does look promicing but they said thundery showers up here on Thursday but we only had a rumble and you reported a flash of lightning, so i'm not counting me chickens yet.
  24. If its the one i'm think of its looks like missing my area. Is it just typical the showers decided come at the end of the day?
  25. Pleased you got your first flash of lightning of the summer. May i ask where is the next storm? I'm confused here.
