Just had the most spring like hail shower ever. Sun out, gentle little hails just bouncing amongst the daisies in my lawn. -

I'm getting no work done today! Firstly I'm a bit excitable after getting vaccinated... freedom is coming! And secondly this sky, I am spending most of my time looking out the window at the fabulous display the clouds are putting on today.

Such a beautiful weekend, it's kind of weird though when it smells and feels like a warmer month... but there's not a leaf to be seen on a branch. I do however now have a garden full of crocuses and lots of dry washing. It's also making me really miss people, life, pub gardens...

From indoors the sky looks like early spring outside, with snow still on the floor! But it's the sound that is really deceiving, such a variety of birdsong that I've not heard in ages... but I set foot outside and it's freezing and I am reminded it is still winter.

Essex Highways have posted on their website and tweeted that it might go as low as -10 here tonight. Is this just a poorly worded article and it's the road surface that might get that cold, not the actual weather temperature we talk of? Essex Highways | Essex County Council BETA.ESSEXHIGHWAYS.ORG

It is strange seeing blue sky in what feels like forever. Just a glimpse here, so very blue.

I just realised others had posted noticing the same. Who knows? I was expecting a quieter time now, and as it's my bin day I'm sure my bin people are appreciating this break in the snow fall.

Did something just happen to the radar? I look away for five minutes and suddenly it's all clear in Essex!

Oh wow one minute all calm, birds fighting over the feeders... now it's amazing! Big fat flakes, heaviest I've seen this snow event.

Suddenly much heavier here, appears to be a mix of graupel and snow.

Yes I had that about an hour ago or so. Never heard such noisy snow before! All the footprints and tyre tracks of the day have been erased in my street, it's lovely.

I am getting more snow falling than I would expect according the radar at the moment.

Yes, the sky has a certain mood to it right now. The lighting has changed and it now looks like a snow day.

Has just started to settle on the grass.. And here is my cat's first time ever outside in snow. He's quite old but he was an indoor cat before I inherited him. He's been trying to catch the snow through the window!

I appear to have a fellow lamppost watcher down my street! At this time in the morning why else would we both be frequently looking outside! Rain and possibly a few flakes mixed in here. Certainly is a biting wind.

I feel for amazon delivery drivers that work around my way! Where I am in SWF most deliveries come from the Ipswich warehouse (despite being quite far away and there are nearer ones), that is going to be quite a tough drive tomorrow.

There's a lot of starling activity here at the moment. Far more than usual. Got about 20 fighting over the bird food (mostly fat balls) in my tree right now. Preparing for the cold I expect.

Quite the hail shower woke me up this morning... I'll be setting my alarm for tomorrow in hope of something that falls quietly.
