Just a sprinkling of snow here on the grass,cars etc,combined with sharp frost and plenty of white ice. Blue skies temp at -0.8c,overnight low was -1.1c.

If any reach my neck of the woods it would be this evening when temps would be dropping,would not be snow now with a temp of 3.5c (was 3.9c a short time ago).

In many ways nothing has changed,we are still hoping that a ssw will save this winter and it looks like our hopes are going to still rest on that. I really hope next month delivers the goods.

last night was the coldest ive recorded so far this winter,-1.2c,my 4th air frost of the winter ,5th if including nov. Currently partly cloudy,1.0c.

A clear and cold night here,current temp 0.3c. I wonder could some parts get some low level snow tomorrow,be probably just sleet at best for my location.

No im not saying that. As regards this colder spell we just have to admit defeat on this one regarding proper cold which some are still chasing. stop beating it into he ground. maybe more luck next month.

It all looks a bit meh really ,maybe there could be some surprises but atm it looks like a fairly bog standard cold snap/spell. It really as been like pulling teeth to get anything proper wintry so far this winter although i certainly have not given up on this winter yet.

Well the models have been a right bloody mess this week. A bit of an embarrassment even (granted it wll be getting colder anyway but still). But i am sure we would all have taken next weeks set up with glee ony a few short weeks ago. The models are such a mess that you never know what might happen and for that reason upgrades cant be ruled out: Most likely we will perhaps need a few bites of the cherry to get what we ultimately want.

I have a good feeling about what the models are showing. Air coming down from the north has appeared at times over the last days for the middle of the month. sometimes not always but sometimes the weather balances things out imo ,so you never know. What the ecm is showing tonight would be payback for last months horror show.

Happy new year to all ,heres to a better year weatherwise and hope we get a pattern change sooner rather then later out of this current pattern for starters.

Happy christmas to everyone. What a lovely xmas eve night it is ,clear with a full moon and a more seasonal feel. Coldest night so far this month (which i know isnt saying much) ,currently 1.3c. As for the gfs it may be a fallacy but we dare to dream!

well nice to see the gfs getting into the festive spirit,very much playing santa today. At least it gives welcome hope if nothing else to long suffering coldies. Maybe the first signs at least at last that this winter will try to redeem itself after this months debacle.

At least it is a nice seasonal feel to xmas eve. Dry and bright here,current temp a chilly 4.4c.

Temp has been rising here over the last few hours ,now at 14.2c. I find it all rather unnerving tbh as regards the climate nowadays.

gfs 12z looking more seasonal for a few days over xmas like the ecm this morning. Im getting excited over the likelihood of some seasonal weather the last while has been just terrible,would love even to see a bloody frost!

At least with the charts for later next week on the ecm it does winter at least making some effort at getting its finger out (even if it does look like a colder blip only atm). Maybe we will have xmas miracle and there will be upgrades,well thats what i want from santa lol.

if this very mild weather is largely down to a very strong el nino its likely imo that the strength of this el nino is probably due to a warming world. So one could say its likely this very mild weather is down to climate change.

over night low here is i suppose is the currrent temp of 12.5c,mad stuff.

13.6c here atm the highest temp ive recorded so far this month ,but at this time of night its freakish.
