I read that atm a moderate to strong nina is the most likely by jan. Conditions expected to be neutral by late spring or early summer with transition towards la nina in late summer or early autumn.

lovely day with wall to wall sunshine. A bit cooler here in the east compared to some other parts,max temp 13.8c.

I think last summer the cold pool in the atlantic had an affect on our weather,helping to keep temps a bit surpressed ,especially in ireland. Wonder will it have the same affect this summer? I wouldnt mind a summer like last yr cool-average temps and quite dry overall.

Miserable day,dull and wet and still raining. Chilly aswell,max temp a few degrees below normal 8.6c. I do like seeing how late in the season i can record max temps in single figures,last yr was during early may with one or two days similar to today.

Dont know how accurate these charts are but the cold pool has grown a bit more in the last month. I suppose to be expected at this time of yr being still in the first half of spring.

A blustery fresh day here today with some showers,really what april or at least the first half of the month should be about. Seasonal if a bit cooler then average. Looks like the first half of this spring will come in below average overall which im sure is a bit of a disappointment to those who looked for warmth but after such a mild winter im not too surprised.

Happy paddys day and what a nice day it was with plenty of sunshine with clear skies. Certainly nicer then the last few years which were fairly dull if i remember. Max temp 8.2c although it felt much warmer out in the sunshine.

It was a lovely day today with mostly clear skies however despite the constant sunshine the temp was down somewhat from the weekend. Temps 14/15c at the weekend ,today a max of just 9.0c due to an east wind. A lovely fresh bright day.

The first half of today here was mostly sunny which allowed the temp to get up to a max of 14.9c my new highest max of the year so far. By mid afternoon the cloud came and it has remained dull since.

Recorded my highest temp of the year so far today,a max of 14.5c despite a lack of sunshine.

That was our summer that yr lol, the summer itself being a washout.

We get enough warmth anyway during most of the yr so why not i say. I mean look at autumn these days for exampe,that season is dying imo -much of it is just an extension of summer now. Its more dry weather i want at this time of yr anyway whatever about the temps,but if its cold so be it. Nice cool fresh spring weather.

Had about an inch of snow earlier this morning so that beats anything i got during the so called winter. However in true spring snow fashion its mostly melted already.

Got up to 9.8c here today,temp has dropped quickly the last few hours. Now at 2.6c with a clear skies atm.

looking at the temp chart,looks like the southern hemisphere didnt have all that hot a summer overall?

Wet snow falling here atm,wind has suddenly picked up aswell,temp 2.2c.

A terrible winter more so the first half which was especially mild,dull and very wet. The second half was better and often had carrots dangling in the models as regards cold and snow but alas nothing much happened in that regard. The coldest max i recorded was 3.7c - very poor. I recorded 11 airfrosts 7 in jan and 4 in feb,got twice as many last winter, I got a sprinkling of snow one night during mid jan and that was that lol. I havent had meaning full snow now since dec 2010,my last ice day was xmas day 2010. These last few winters have left me rather frustrated to say the least. Oh well maybe our luck will change with winter 16/17.

Recorded my 10th airfrost of the winter last night,last winter i had twice as many. Last nights low -2.4c,my lowest so far this winter,which at this stage might be the lowest overall anyway.

^^^^^ I would presume so,we all would have a good chance of that if the ecm charts came true. So will this poor excuse of a winter have a sting in its tail???? If similar charts are showing over the weekend i think we can begin to get excited especially cos thise charts are not deep fi charts.

Sharpest evening temp drop this winter here so far,was 5c at 4pm,already down to 1c.

There seems almost an inevitability about it that after such a poor winter,that winter to a certain extent anyway will arrive in the spring.
