    Since that cell over Chester passed, it’s gone unbelievably muggy here... A lot of grey crud as well... I hope this clears soon so that hopefully the main event can start this evening. ?️ ... Also, that storm over the Midlands looks really quiet juicy! Fingers crossed that it keeps its power, and also keeps heading towards the north west. ?️

    Looks like things are starting to get going over towards Chester. I can confirm lots more (distant) thunder now. ?️

    Lightning strike about nine miles away from me, over towards Rossett, (between Chester and Wrexham)... Thunder still distant, but much louder. ?️

    Looks like this current storm is being sent north westwards... And avoiding me in the process. But the sky is VERY dark to my south. ?️

    Morning all Just been out with the dog, and I saw this to my south! Looks like it’s the top of the storm that’s currently working it’s way up the Marches. ?️ The main risk is meant to hit me (hopefully hit me), later today! As always, good luck to everyone with this today.

    Good afternoon all Well, like a few others on here, its safe to say that I'm enjoying this summery spell of weather after the squelch fest that April was! But also I'm starting to feel a little storm starved, so I thought I'd have a quick look to see if there is anything of possible interest on the horizon... And guess what? ?️ So, here is what the 00z GFS run is showing for next week... Lets start off with Monday and work through to Friday. Now I'm not saying that there is going to be a storm on any of these days, but, it does show that at least we have storm potential. ?️

    Evening @Darren Bown That was probably the one that I heard thunder from about an hour ago... I think that one has sadly lost its electrical edge. But things are very still here at the moment... There’s still hope.

    Lightning the other side of the Clwydian Range... Too far away to hear any thunder... But in the last few minutes, this beauty has appeared out of nowhere.

    Really warm here at the moment... Milky hazy sky as well... But not anywhere near as humid as I was expecting. But we have got some small, weak towers starting to go up... It’s a start.

    Afternoon @Weather-history, sadly I have to say you're right, it looks like today is a bust. I’ve just checked the radar and all I can see is one strike around the Leeds area... Can anyone confirm this?

    Heavens have just opened here! Very heavy rain! Sadly I don’t think it’s gonna go bang for me today, but I reckon somewhere north east of me will see something... At a guess, I’m gonna say Manchester area when it starts?

    Afternoon all As @SNOW_JOKE has said, there are now a few breaks in the cloud, and some rather nice convection going on out here at the moment. ... Just had a small hail shower as well!

    Some impressively convective looking skies in the distance today, and I’ve just had a quick look at the lightning radar to see if anything has kicked off, and amazingly it has! Sadly nothing over me as yet... But the storm season is still young. Good look to everyone who’s enjoying storms this evening.

    Although a long way from me, I see that there have been a few lightning strikes around the Surrey area.
