  3. Morning all! Just checked my garden and it's a complete wash out now with all the grass under 2" of rainwater. We are on thick grey clay (you can make pots from it) and I'm not sure how it's going to soak away. The whole country looks like it is under the progression of rain: But just look at the conveyor of cloud coming: What does it bring to us? and some really gusty winds: I've not seen a moisture transport vector chart quite like this for a long time, there's a lot up there and it's heading our way: Time to hunker down or find some buckets and sandbags in areas of our region? Who said that??!
  4. Plenty of relaxing and weather permitting, long walks and exploration. I've built up a stock of different rums that would see the Royal Navy good through the Winter and I'll be doing my annual Caribbean drinking cruise from Island to Island, by way of each individual bottles origin. I think I have every country and Island covered this year and the one that eluded me, is on its way I've just heard! Cheers!! Catch you all in the (damp) morning.
  5. I'd like to say cheers to everyone on the forum and especially the team of hosts,.forecasters and fellow moderators. Only they know just how hard it can be at times, but also how great it can be too!
  6. This may be my last word on tomorrow as I'm concerned now it will lead to serious issues and we all pretty well know it's coming. How bad? At least as bad as yesterday I think: Falling in some pretty similar locations too, so compounding the problems already there: It's just not good
  7. Almost scary to go for a lunchtime walk out in the sun with just a tee-shirt and jeans on today. I'm getting my clothes ready for tomorrow now:
  8. I wouldn't want to waste my final hours on this planet, besides, I've still got work to finish before the holiday break!!!
  9. OMG!!!!!!!!!! I've just looked out of the window and a huge yellow ball is hanging in the sky above Eastbourne!!!!! Is it really the end???????
  10. Ahh yes, great minds and all that! ( ) I've animated the NW Extra NMM, not a pretty sight: That area around the IOW and inland again in for lots of water Morning!! Not until 11.11 am?
  11. The run off from yesterday combined with what's coming is a big worry

  13. Morning all, still here so far! Looks like the rain has stopped at last. Not looking forward to tomorrow though
  14. Unfortunately the patch of intense rain for today showing up on all charts yesterday has fallen exactly where it was shown and here is one of the poor villages suffering: http://www.bbc.co.uk...pshire-20794567
  15. Or maybe: I'm not sure I should be posting there when we are all looking forward to happier times next week, but here it is, another round of rain:
  16. To people in the area it's not so long ago that Uckfield had major flooding (2000) and further floods in 2010. I think the sign by the River Uck has been 'modified' at points over the years to reflect what people really think of it... Floods in 2000 and 2010 http://www.uckfield.co.uk/flood.htm
  17. Went out in a brief lull a moment ago to look at the weir at the side of our car park. Never seen it so deep and in full torrent:
  18. Here's a thread to send out all of your Christmas and New Year greetings for 2012 into 2013 - either to a single member, group or everyone on Netweather!
