  1. Morning all from a very wet East and Mid Sussex. Main A27 through the Alfriston area now very bad with a lot of standing water, up to 6" in places making driving fun, doesn't seem to have slowed many drivers down though which is quite disconcerting as they plough into it. More standing water along the back roads between Lewes and Burgess Hill, deeper in places and just about passable. The Langney Shopping Centre, around a mile from my home is reporting that the roof has collapsed overnight due to the weight/volume of the rain, fire crews have been in attendance all night. So maybe the end of the World will be by flooding then?
  2. Here's a few that give concern, but it's on its way now anyway as I listen to it lashing against the office windows:
  3. With some imminent very wet and possibly windy weather on its way to our part of the World in the next 3 days, here's a new thread to discuss local weather and regional meteorological observations. I hope that everyone remains dry and flood free. Data and chat from the lead-up to this (and other local conversation) can still be viewed here: http://forum.netweat...mber-12th-2012/
  4. Ahead of some expected bad weather overnight and then again on Saturday, I'll open up a new thread shortly to cover anything in our region, hang on tight and grab your snorkels!
  5. It's a bit of a worry now - run the forecast loop here and see again what Saturday does, more of the same! http://www.meteox.com/forecastloop.aspx?type=1#
  6. Run the 3 day forecast loop for rain today here and then Saturdays as well, it's rinse and repeat: http://www.meteox.com/forecastloop.aspx?type=1#
  7. If you can make out the figures on this one, some have accumulations of 32mm over the next 18 hours in parts of our region
  8. Nope, I'm up to the East from this particular highlighted patch (only just). Looks like locally West Sussex is in for a soaking, should make the 6.30 journey into work tomorrow 'interesting'

  12. It's this bit inland from the IOW and around 30 miles either way that keeps appearing on every model and chart - why the big deal for this particular area?
  13. Well lean over here a bit so I can share the protection please!!
  14. Just the dissolving wet ones! First tranche of wet stuff coming through, enough on its own but really only a precursor to the next few days:
  15. Arggghhhh! Raining here now at lunchtime - nothing like the stuff due to come tonight, but I'm starting to dissolve already....
  16. I mean really damp........ Localised flooding at that point with run-off and rising river levels now highly likely
  17. Ouch, can't see much getting away from some flooding, serious in parts. Timing looks to be from dusk onwards, depending where you are: Saturday brings more of the same:
  18. Well if we survive Armageddon on Friday, we may be very damp by Sunday....... http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/dec/19/britain-christmas-weather-forecast-rain

  20. Latest SatRep to check when the worst of things may be coming through today/tomorrow:
  21. Latest SatRep might give a clue when to expect the worst of things as the front moves through our area: Going to be a wet night, you might want to think twice about putting the cat out!
